not true. I think pharmaceutical companies, health systems and companies that make cleaning products are thriving. as are places that sell groceries like kroger, amazon, walmart, costco etc.
I work in healthcare and my brother works for walmart.
neither of us would call whats going on THRIVING - not at all.
once you get a couple infected employees there will be whole amazon and costco warehouses shutting down
and even after sanitation/sterilization processes there is still a huge backlog of business that needs manpower to move.
Structurally we are not equipped to protect the public, front line responders and food suppliers simultaneously AND keep business moving.
The whole reason shelter in place is going on is to avoid healthcare facilities being crushed and their supplies/workforce being overwhelmed.
lastly a lot of these food/supply warehouses are non-union and the leadership is NOT being proactive or reacting fast enough on protecting workers and there will be more walkouts/strikes.
Amazon already getting sued for firing someone (retaliation) in NYC who was vocal about their failures to protect their workers.
They (Amazon) even pissed off the NYC attorney general- this is the tip of the iceberg.
hella nurses and doctors getting overtime and getting PAID but i guarantee you 80% of us would trade it for some quiet/home time.
bottom line.....things are busy in lots of sectors but being busy dont translate to good results.
sorry for the long post but i and my family are frontlines on this and its gonna get way worse before
