Direct consequence of those Stimmy checks and PPP loans and of course the anti eviction policies.

Because they printed all that free money they have to stop inflation so interest rates went up loans for real estate get more expensive and less people can afford to live alone.

Y’all, it is so important for those of us who have the gumption and wherewithal to push and strive to be as successful and secure as possible. This stuff frightens the F out of me, for real. I’m in a bubble to an extent, but if you don’t produce that bubble can certainly pop!
Frankly it should concern you it's part of the great reset. we won't see the all the effects in our lifetime but the G-7 countries will start looking more like the G-20 countries meaning there will be third world like slums.

Here's the thing too in some states like California they throw an additional state tax. So that $100k salary is really like $65k after taxes.

$1300 on rent (old apartment most likely)
$100 on internet
$100 on utilities
$1500 per month to live = ~$45k left

$300-$400 per month on food if you can somehow manage $100/week: ~$40k left the rest of the year.

Car payment, car maintenance will remove much more.
Gas if you don't have remote work (many engineers unless software don't): shyt was $8/per two weeks ago.
I can't really make an estimate here as I'm remote and my car is paid for.
But anywhere from another $10k-$25k I'd say for car fees?

End of the day maybe you have $5-$10k you saved over the year?

Saving $10k/year knowing you make $100k/year is ridiculous.

How much will someone making $75k/year save up?
$15-$30k of credit card debt after 3 years?

Some people don't got much choice than to live in an expensive place like Cali either because that's where the work is (unless you want to move overseas) and that's where some families and their support system live or where their significant other's job or support system/family live.

One health emergency or major inconvenience and that $50k you saved up after penny-pinching for years is gone. Time to restart that savings, but now you're older.

First of all, most regions of this nation have shytty public transportation
Outside of maybe 10 cities(and I’m being generous) getting around without a car is damn near impossible
Mild weather conditions be damn and even that’s changing
Second, how are you expecting people to have money for Uber/Lyft when the majority of Americans don’t even have $500 in their savings account
nikka that still costs money
Then you factor in health insurance(copays just don’t disappear, you have to pay those and high ass premiums just to even be seen by a doctor)
This rent ain’t 1999/Early 2000 anymore
Even if you are capable of getting a job close to work
Those prices are still kicking peoples asses
Car maintenance
Home/Renters/Car Insurance
Even if you just budgeted for necessities, you still getting washed because everything is going up
Car insurance is rocketing because of not only greed but payouts for accidents, home break ins, etc
Gas is never coming back down
Grocery prices are insane
You typing all this yellow cake, bootstrap bullshyt but clearly you “ain’t lived it” to be talking like this
Anybody that’s been down bad or came from ducked up financial pasts
Don’t walk around with the arrogance you so called financial savants do
Day in and day out on this forum
nikkas hate cacs but be using the same talking points as them
Displaying no empathy
shyt Warren Buffett has more empathy and none of you nikkas typing on this forum will ever touch the amount of wealth he has
Y’all not righteous or for the people
You nikkas cosplaying and performing for other mentally ill sycophants for likes
Foh bytch ass nikka
fukking FACTS.

Bootstraps life I lived for years wasn't easy at all. I expect nobody to be able to do that and that was years ago when things were "better".

It does concern me. That’s why I’m saying we all need to go hard(er) as this continues…because it isn’t getting better

I was going to say a small ass apartment is going be to damn near $2000. Places like Moreno Valley :francis:
Yeah I'm thinking more Inglewood, Long Beach, etc.

South LA and Orange County even a little cheaper too (but areas without much to do honestly which I guess is good for penny-pinching and not much else).

Edit: but yeah mainly looking at $2100 I'd say.
