I dont believe that. Bench pressing and bw dips got me to doing pushups like a machine. Before the heavy metal in hs I struggled with push ups.

Im almost certain that is false.

The workouts aren't mutually exclusive.

You are doing both, lifting weights and calisthenics. Thats pretty much the goal.

A lot of people think you can only do one. Which is not true. You should do both.

There's plenty of cats who think because they can bench 300 that they don't need to be able to do 25 pushups. And one plenty of people who think because they can do 100 pushups in one set that they don't need to be able to bench at least 225. There's nothing wrong with having a preference toward one or the other. But you can very much do both, and it sounds like you do.

Easier said than done tho my dude. Everybody got a lives.

We got bills, some have kids, some work..all that mentally drains you. Im not saying im pro pre work out im just saying it aint as easy as A-B-C

A warm up takes a few minutes to less than 10. Will a warm up sustain you through your workout like a pre workout? No. 250mgs of caffeine will still have you buzzing when your workout is done.

As far as bills, kids and jobs. Everyone has them it's not an excuse to not get some form of workout in. Especially kids. You can ride bikes with your kids, do pushups with your kids, go running with your kids. Kids should keep you fit, not wear you down.

hated the feeling that shyt gave me but was usually good if it kicked in mid workout. Now I'm doing a caffeine free lifestyle. Miss coffee...but not them headaches. Not to mention that shyt was fukkin wit my sleep schedule.

My point wasnt about whether to work out or not.

I was talking about the pre workouts and when he was talking about "going to the gym at a different time", as if its that simple or everybody has that option.

@Wildin I had a morbidly obese dude ask me how Im dropping weight today. I told him I played sports until my disability and I always lifted off and on. He then asked me about what I do for cardio. I tells him i walk with my walker 4 miles a day. Mostly to the gym. He then looks at his PT and says, "I wanna workout with someone that resembles me a bit".

I told ol boy...if you never played sports or lifted you do not wanna be my workout partner. I gets it in and Im not even at the 2 month mark since starting back.

But I did tell him, if he drops that battle rope shyt and do deadlifts he will build muscle and get the same cardio workout.

Its amazing how many fat people didnt play ball in their youth, like what did you do as a fat teen?

I get you. I was basically saying get it in. I was going to say you have to sacrifice, but I don't agree to that. It should be a priority. Going to work is a priority. Raising the kids and all that is a priority, working out should be a priority right along with those things.

Bro you’ve talked to me about you walking with your walker before. But how long does that take you to go 4 miles, I’m assuming it’s outdoor. That’s solid. What exactly is your disability?

I mean, some fat people played sports as teens and kids. They just sucked. They were just on the team. And some didn't do anything. It's one thing to have been a straight a student busted your ass and valuing all your education, going to college and just never working out or playing sports. Its the big, unskilled, uneducated people that request more information from because then it's like "what have you done with your life thus far?"

You might need be the motivation or inspiration he needs though. I wouldn't push him away. You already put the work in, let him shadow you. He might either rock with it and try to keep up with you, or quit. Or quit then in a year or 2 maybe even longer either see you and see your progress or just be thinking "damn, if he was doing it, I can do it. I just gotta do it like he does or at least try."

I be going to the gym at the end of the night with no gas in the tank sometimes. All the stuff people do to survive ....man I gotta give myself more credit. 🙏🏽

don't let me not have my earbuds though it might be a wrap lol
A devout Christian would rather miss several consecutive Sunday services more than I would NOT drive miles back to get my forgotten ear buds before the gym :gucci:

Brown rice and grilled chicken is all you need for pre workout

That ain’t no damn pre workout :heh: Too heavy, too slow digesting.

Wheat toast w/ peanut butter, oatmeal w/ some type of nuts pause, protein shake, whey, Greek yogurt. Plenty of options all to be taken about an hour before

But that’s all for nutritional. These “pre workout” junkies take it for energy. That’s a separate need. For that you should only workout for an hour you don’t need to be jacked on all that shyt. Tea, a gallon of water throughout your workout, and a good playlist should. be all thr energy you need

Its 2 miles to and fro..not long about 35mins depending on my hip, leg and back.

I had limb lengthening surgery and prior to that I was playing football when i shouldnt have with a 4cm difference in my femurs. Thus I have a pinched femural nerve, degenerative arthritis (early) left hip, arthritic knee, 2xbulging discs, 1x degenerating.

My shyt hurts 247 but if I dont get this weight off me I fear Imma be wheelchair bound again. And that is my personal hell.

The Walker is amazing and I shouldve been using one, but when I went all out to be a firefighter that put so much strain on my last physical chance i had at being normal. That exasperated the ailments from having a short leg.

Im not on any drugs, just deal with the pain and focus on decompressions and strengthening the muscles around the discs. Deadlifting so far has done wonders, but I need the reverse hyper machine.
