jamaica was always there before 2000 Merlene Otty, Linford Christy who ran for canada in 96, Ben Johnson (ran for canada) Don Quarrie (former record holder in 70s)my uncles running partner back in the day..George Kerr my cousin , Herb McMckinly, Author Wimp in early days..We have alot history

Alot of sprinting history and now facilities have expanded since the country and sponsors have pump millions in training on the island.
Christie ran for Britain.
I hated that c00n with a passion.

U forgot to add that Michael Johnson had food poisonin in 92 thats why he flopped. And he was runnin slower times because a) he was old and b) he dominated where its impossible to dominate for so long as he did. From 89-00

And Carl Lewis was probably the main person who help get Track and Field from amateur to pros status.

Did Michael Johnson have food poisoning in '92? So the story goes. My point is that it was probably good for him. Cuz he stayed hungry, trained his ass off, had something to prove in Atlanta '96 where he won his 1 and only 200m gold medal ("Dominating from 89-00" is an illusion of history, manipulated by marketing and the actions of Johnson himself)

nope. You're just an idiot.

I could be wrong about Phelps and Bolt - but they'd be the first to do it.
nah, you're just a troll with a very limited view on sports. Your post come across as a person who only started watching seriously the last 4-5 years.

Edwin Moses won gold in the 400 meter hurdles in 1976, USA boycotted the 1980 olympics, and then he won gold in 1984.

He also won 122 consecutive races between 77-85. Where was his dropoff? He also won gold in the 1987 World championships before bowing out with a bronze in 1988.

Then you have that lazy ass like Michael Phelps who on 5 golds in 2004 and then won 8 in 2008.

Greg Louganis won the double in diving in 1984 and 1988, and he caught the monster between those 4 years. Just STFU.

And Im not even thinking off other athletes from other nations who dominated their sports for years.

And Carl Lewis was probably the main person who help get Track and Field from amateur to pros status.
you know he didnt know this.

:stopitslime:

he was mad, but he wasnt slow. One of the greatest starters ever in a relay. Now that clown Dennis Mitchell, he needed to sit the fukk down and shut the fukk up and take that ring out his eye brow.

I don't see how that proves that he did in fact win more than 1 100m Final at the Olympics.

Maybe you should link me to some Youtube footage:pachaha:

Either way, both him and Linford Christie are Jamaicans:ehh:

Yeah Donavan Bailey too left him I was just trying to prove the tradition has been there it didnt start in 2000's.

so you are saying Team USA will lose dominance in Olympics if there weren't any rule changes?

What sports we on about? If its track and field, nah they have too much money, best trainin set ups and talented athletes. They will have their low points in certain events but they just too powerful to die.

Smaller nations suffer from Cycles worse. Remember before Powell broke onto the scene the only male Jamaican sprinter to do anything was Don Quarrie u had to wait what nearly 25 years to replace him i aint includin Christie or bailey in this btw as they didnt rep the country. At the moment ur sprint team is at its peak but dont think the next generation is gunna be as good as this one

You're really comparing the stardom of Greg Louganis & Edwin Moses to that of Usain Bolt & Michael Phelps?

You must be dumb.

Or maybe you misunderstood my argument in the first place.:ld:

nothing is new under the sun. All of these guys were huge stars in their day, so yes Im comparing them.

Edwin Moses was the biggest star in track before Carl Lewis. And Louganis made diving popular in the USA.
