No it isn't, athletes do it all the time. They're lazy point blank.

Not when your major event comes every four years.

Show me cases where Olympic athletes became Superstars bigger than their sport - and came back just as strong four years later.

We'll see how Phelps and Bolt do in these Olympics. I could be wrong about them - but I'm reasoning based on my experience of human behaviour.

Rather poor thread title, considering the only word from Jamaica was the names mentioned which is Blake & Bolt. When the topic at hand was said by American in London

Your thread title should of been.

Black Fist Says Bolt can Run under 9sec for 100m

or

Da Gawd Tommie Smith says...

or

Mr Black Power says...

Are you dumb or just trolling? Carl Lewis, Michael Johnson, Jackie Joyner, etc.
Staying motivated and dedicated to your craft is kinda part of being an athlete.
That's what separates the greats from the good ones.. :beli:

Jackie Joyner-Kersey was exceptional in the heptathlon, but she was never a megastar bigger than the sport. The heptatlon is still the heptathlon, even if you're very good. So she maximized her talent as long as she could to keep food on the table.

Michael Johnson flopped in the '92 Olympics, so he stayed hungry for '96. After killing it in '96 in 200m and 400m ... He won gold in the 400m only at the 2000 Olympics, but was running slower times..

Carl Lewis won gold in 100m in 1984. He DID NOT become bigger than the sport. Coke rescinded a previous endorsement offer and he got dropped by Nike after the Olympcs. Plus if you were alive back then you'd know people generally didn't give a fukk about track at the time ...So Lewis stayed hungry with something to prove. He won in '88 by default, and that was his last sprinting gold. (Interesting tho how suspect it is to me that he finally set a world record in '91 at age 30... this after having been a teammate of Flo-Jo.)

:ehh:

Do you have other tries at previous Usain Bolts or Micheal Phelps repeating?
