He's off on this fact.

The only Yankees/Highlander manager to ever manage the team for more than 4 years without winning a world series was the FIRST manager of the Yankees (Highlanders) Clark Griffin back in 1903-1908.

Even Buck Showalter wasn't allowed to manage a 5th season.

So if they bring this dude back please boycott these fukks.

This is why Yankees ain’t winning shyt for another decade. Fans won’t accept 3 years of losing and real rebuilding/ resetting, but will accept washed up has beens surrounded by mediocre players winning 86 games like we did from 2013-2016. Players aren’t hitting free agency like before with these early extensions, got to reset, draft well, and trade for future pieces.

Sevy Judge Monty Loaisga can net us players who are ready to play at major league level now or in a few months. Betts netted the Sox Verdugo who already had year or so under his belt . Sox drafted Mayer, a future stud player (no homo), 3 years after winning a championship.

Red Sox took a huge L on that trade even with Verdugo and even then, they still had Devers, Bogaerts and JD. The Yankees wouldn't even have that (and you wouldn't be getting that in return for what they have now). Even the Red Sox didn't do what you're suggesting. When they sucked, they didn't dump every semi-relevant guy.

The Yankee minor league system is not bad at all. They're just mainly in A+ ball at the moment. I could see if the Yankees' system was barren but it's not.

I mentioned Betts trade as a reference of major league talent we can get if we move our prime pieces. Judge definitely can bet you a Verdugo type, but I’d shoot for someone in top 30 who is a few months away. They won’t be all minor leaguers a couple years away. You obviously won’t be able to trade every starter I mentioned either, some will stay due to no one wanting them or not enough value back to even make the trade.

The Sox reset I am referencing is after their 2013 championship. Barely, if any starter from that team was a starter on 2018 team. Sox were in last place 2014 and 2015 and back competing and taking the division in 2016 and 2017. They had a couple young players knocking on the door, but we have some soon too. They made bad signings during those periods but never anything crippling to the future of the team.

The recent return to prominence is more of a retool than a reset. They did something similar in 2012 trading with Dodgers to dump bad contracts, then signed short term contracts and won in 2013

shaquille-o-neal-shaq.gif

wtf is this clown talking about

Nobody has to close the gap on you when you haven't won shyt in 12 years and get bounced early in the playoffs every year.

Nothing to look forward to next year if Cashman and this puppet are still around.

Not disagreeing with Boone needing to go, but Cashman lease should've expired long time ago. The Gallo trade cemented it for me, we got enough swing and miss dudes on this roster.
Cashman always looking for next bargain basement deal, hoping to strike lightning in a bottle with Kluber/Taillon.

Also paying Hicks a long term contract when he had never stayed healthy just because we needed a lefty bat was a mistake now that fool is with us for a few more years.

Boone not fired yet?

I guess they are going to wait till after their organizational meeting like they did with Girardi.
