Exactly. I have a friend who is an attorney and she didn't change her name period. If she did she'd have to change every single legal document with her name listed on it, every single court/district she is registered to practice in and a lot of other ish. That is time consuming and expensive as hell.

So don't get married then if it's that much of a hassle. :upsetfavre:

I don't agree your wife should have your name just like your kids should have your name.

I think so, too......but if the relationship is good otherwise and she really makes a big deal out of it for whatever reason, I think I would settle on that :ehh:.....after all, it's her own name

Now that shyt with the kids' names.....I'll honestly dump a woman over that shyt

Or marry a man who doesn't need his woman to change her name to feel like a man... Either way she made the best decision for her.

So is an an engagement ring. Women kill me with this crap

So don't buy her one then. Problem solved... oh what but then...:heh:

taking a man's name in marriages is a tradition that goes back thousands of years

if these bytches are so against tradition...why the fukk they wanna get married in the first place?...marriage aint nothing but a tradition itself

i always wondered about the kids born to these couples with hyphenate names. whats gunna happen if a hyphenate kid marries another hyphenate kid. their kid gunna have four last names? imagining working in HR and getting a resume from someone named "John Smith-Jones-McCoy-Garcia" or some shyt like that

one thing i always wondered, from a legal standpoint. who legally gets the last say for the kid's last name?

EDIT: matter of fact, who gets the last say for first and last name?

women got 100% of the legal power, when it comes to naming the kid

Neither. Both parents have equal legality when it comes to their children. No parent is greater than the other. Some women pull that well I carried them and birthed them bullshyt but without the fathers sperm they wouldn't have any children to carry or give birth to.

Please explain your position because in all of my years of legal experience I've never seen one parent have more rights than the other. If both parents are listed on the birth certificate they share legality. Where is it stated otherwise?

You know what I had a dream about this lmao. I've always said I'd keep my last name but I have two brothers so...I'd change it.

but what happens if both parents disagree and never reach agreement and are both very adamant about it?

Men should not even have to mention it. It should be brought up by the woman instead. She should know her place and say exactly she wants your last name

the women gets full control over the naming of a baby in the hospital.

if a father objects , he has to take it to court..and hope the judge is on his side (which is unlikely)

in your "legal experience" have you ever seen a father name a baby in a hospital, and a mother who objects having to go to court about it?
