women that hyphen their name are disrespectful

Is that so? Is it all across the board or just very common?
I have some muslim friends but never bothered to ask those questions nor have i ever even noticed.

It’s basically across the board. You are given your father’s name and keep it. I think more western Muslims are taking their husbands name though.
