Judge away for her doing porn, but I think there's a difference between that and either going out of your way to mock her or being callous towards her death. At the end of the day, she was a troubled young woman in a vulnerable position with a family history of crime, neglect, and problems. So from that standpoint, she was already set up with some odds against her. She deserved help, not dismissal.

Also, FYI, her pops is Black. She's not really white though she does look like a tan white person in that pic. I see her as a Black woman, and the family history in her case is all too common in the Black community, so the problem goes beyond her as an individual, in my opinion. She had the odds of Black life stacked against her, too.

There are a lot of troubled young individuals in this country. What makes her special? She made a poor decision, then boasted about it and killed herself after the backlash. This is not that narrative of all troubled individuals. She could have made much better choices. I grew up in the same conditions, if not worse in some cases, but I turned out "decent." I don't have 77 Certs or 250k stashed away while I live with my parents but I'm doing "okay" considering. We should be focused on helping individuals who aren't making conscious efforts to ruin their lives.

I've read numerous articles/studies that state when the brain isn't fully developed, you're more likely to make irrational decisions, because the left hemisphere (responsible for logic) is overridden by the emotional reactions processed by the amygdala. It's not rocket science to understand why young people make dumber decisions when compared to older people. However, of course, individual differences/life experiences always yield different results.

I'd like to reiterate: I do not condone her actions. Porn is disgusting! However, it's good to separate the sin from the sinner, to allow compassion to flow from one human being to another.

I think you have @The Real mixed up... he is one of the fairest on team atheist/agnostic by far. I don't think he's trying to flip the script and just outright accuse you of hypocrisy but I actually understand what hes saying. There are plenty of direct commands from Jesus in the bible along with his actions that you're supposed to emulate that clearly outline something contrary to what you may have said in this thread.

While I have to extend tough love to our 18 year old dead friend, I don't think it makes very much sense to use our own sense of morality which may be based on Abrahamic values, and then ignore those same values in a more direct fashion when disdaining compassion. I don't blame the kids for roasting her just like I don't blame her for killing herself. It all to me seems like a blameless and senseless tragedy.
