for anyone arguing that wolverine outfit was never gonna translate well on screen, Marvel pretty much made a 1950s captain america look like this:

its a simple fix: Cap is a US soldier, so it makes sense to drape him in combat gear that is reminiscent of US soldiers (black ops, military etc.). Even the helmet was a nice touch of adding the wings as a design as oppose to protruding wings.
Logan is pretty much the same, an army vet, and the first deadpool film explained Wade being one as well so it kinda adds to the story
