Departed can't be classic, simply because it's not original

quite possibly the dumbest statement i ever heard, by that logic the Godfather isnt a classic either. ohhhhhhhhh but lemme guess, you meant "remake", so just incase thats your rebuttal let me furthur say that would still be an asinine statement. not often but there comes time when remakes, movies based on classic novels (such as Godfather was) and so forth that actually surpass their predecessors. to say a movie isnt a classic simply "because" without giving any credence to the acting, writing and directing, which Departed killed in all 3 phases....im sorry you just hating or trolling (or both).

A lot of dates were in the theater and it made it even funnier because you can tell females for the most part weren't feeling the intentionally overblown dark misogynistic humor of the movie. They just saw that Leo was going to be in it :leostare:

I think this just dethroned Wall St. as the best movie about Wall St. :ohhh: and it's Scorsese's best film since Casino. Sorry, departed is a great movie but this movie is just cinema on steriods

The thing is a classic and it's not original..The Departed is a classic breh. Anyway, great flick, loved every min of it. I hope it gets a lot of love during awards season because it deserves it. It's funny how out of all his contemporaries(Spielberg, Lucas, Ford-Coppola), Martin is the only one still consistent out of the bunch and still pushing himself as a filmmaker and making exciting stuff. While Hugo isn't the same type of flick this is, I feel like he's done a great 1-2 punch with Hugo and Wolf, showing that he isn't slowing down anytime soon. Instant cop when it hits blu ray, if only to see Leo pop lock to "Baby got Back"
