Will we protest the NFL if Colin Kaepernick gets blackballed?

I haven't watched a full football game outside of this past super bowl in 4 years. t this point I don't watch regular season games at all. The sport could completely disappear and I'd be fine. And I watched like a fiend and enjoyed it from like age 7. But it's too scummy a sport, even by sports standards.

If he does not have a team by opening day I will not be watching. Told all my friends too, and they'd definitely put me on blast if I went back on word.

My ravens not about to be shyt this year anyway.

I'd be down. The concussion stuff, racial insinuation, and overall bad on the field product has about killed it for me. This could solidify its death for me.

I don't understand this kind of viewpoint? It's not about Kap and never was about Kap for me. It's about the NFL and essentially condoning the mistreatment of blacks who represent not only a large part of their viewing audience but their employees as well. With their actions or lack thereof, not only are they saying they don't give a shyt about black issues, but they will punish those who take a stand as well. Remember, this is a league that takes "stands" against other things, but oppression certainly isn't something they're interested in.

I have a problem with that and you don't have to but to say they need to do much worse? How much worse do they need to be? I won't even get into fukking over retired atheletes and the concussion cover up.

You are hooked onto the entertainment factor and it will take really nothing for you to pull away. That's fine and the NFL knows it so they will do wha they want to do cuz they know people will eat it up.

What I get from all of this is standing for the anthem > black opression and the NFL pretty much condones that. Trump is in office and he ran the most racist, xenophobic campaign imaginable. Most owners are hardcore republicans. Doesn't take much to connect the dots.

I agree with you.

But I feel like your singling out the NFL

You realize the NBA has done this to TWO good players in the past? And would have no problem doing it again.

If your gonna have this view then be consistent.

Kaep plays in the NFL. The NFL is even worse than the NBA for many reasons. The fact that contracts are not guaranteed, the concussion sh1t, not to mention the lack of blacks in high ranking positions, let alone ownership. The commish runs the league like a dictatorship and has way too much power. Not to mention the whole "shield" bullsh1t. I hate the direction of the NFL and have felt this way for a while. I didn't even touch on how black QB's are viewed and mistreated. The league is just one giant plantation IMO.

What you're speaking on happened when I was a kid under a different regime. If the league pulled that sh1t, I'd have the same opinion. I'd put the NBA lightyears ahead of the NFL though.

I don't think the NFL can even be compared to NBA from a who cares more about black people standpoint

I'm not touting the NBA as this bastion of equality, but when Donald Sterling went off on his tirade, Silver actually had the balls to ban him from the league :ehh: meanwhile, a white WR, Riley Cooper, openly said ****** and had multiple teams giving him a second chance :mjlol:
