Will we protest the NFL if Colin Kaepernick gets blackballed?

If the NFL was so bad and racist, why would Colin want to continue playing in it for a racist team? He's not broke or struggling. He can retire and put in more work.

Being wealthy does not shield you from racism nor is it an indication that the field of work isn't racist. He is putting more work now by that Somalia initiative he has going on.

Because he wants to bring about awareness and try to change the system from within. That's like saying since America is a white supremacist country why are Black people here why should they just go back to Africa because some believe and have been vindicated that change from within institutions can happen.

It was gonna happen regardless you think rich white men like opinionated black people taking a stand against white power structures politically?! You think they want to deal with losing that white money?! :francis:

Kap should just move on, they never gonna let him back in the NFL... :francis: he knows it, we know it...

Definitely not as a quarterback
And I respect him for knowing this would happen and he still acting

Colin doesn't need to play in the NFL to bring awareness.

Also, choosing to play for a racist team is not the same as being born in a racist country.

You can't answer my question.

It fukkin disgusts me that they are more upset over taking a knee during the national anthem than the very thing he was protesting about.

You bring that part up and it always starts with "BUT". Nah, there is no BUT when it comes to police brutality and social injustice. The whole "he could have done it a better way" crowd is fulla shyt too since that was the same argument used against MLK and others.

The truth is the taking a knee against the flag is easier to deflect the argument to instead of talkin about what he's protesting. They don't want to have that discussion.

These cats in the league should also speak up, but they won't. The white power structure in this country who actually has the ability to do something about the injustices and inequality Kaep was speaking of don't care about us. Just shutup and play. They've shown this shyt time and time again. Justice for all my ass. :camby:

Bruh, the intolerant are having their coming out party. Racism is so deeply ingrained in some people that they couldn't even look past the kneeling. They couldn't even look past that the anthem was written by a racist slave owner that originally had racist lyics. They are incapable of seeing anything through the eyes of other which is why they so easily cast judgement on those with opposing views and beliefs. When you are conditioned to believe you are the moral compass, then you're going to carry that attitude in every fabric of life. These are not people that can be reasoned with or understood.

People don't give a shyt about blacks, period.. And they keep telling us every day and we still sit back and take it.

If you struggle to understand how race plays a factor in this whole thing then I'm not sure if I should take the time to come up with a response. I'm bewildered by this post.

If Kaep was a great qb do you honestly think no one would sigb him? I'm not saying he shouldn't be signed, he can be a solid backup in a league that puts a premium on them. But let's not act like this dude is amazing and not signing him is a huge mistake for most teams. He's a distraction and I get why a team would look elsewhere.

Not the fukking point. Kaep had a pretty good year, he can't find a job. Kaep has 3 road playoff wins, how many QB's an say that? He has 4 playoff wins and a SB appearance. Kaep unfortunately got screwed by playing for a franchise that decided to get rid of all their talent, got rid of their elite coach and all of their pro bowl players, then expected Kaep, who got injured, to do the impossible and ball out.

I read some of the most retarded sh1t when it comes to Kaep. Nikka got 0 chances, 0 excuses that other QB's get and he earned the right to at least get the benefit of the doubt. Came back last year and had a good season. Alex Smith went to the pro bowl with the SAME exact numbers with far less talent. Kaep can't get a job.

So please kill the "if he was great, he would have a job". That is utter nonsense and just makes the league look even dumber. "Unless you're Tom Brady level don't you dare protest black oppression".

You can't answer my question.

No I can answer your question. you just don't like the answer. Colin is professional athlete and that is his profession why hold that against him? Would you tell a doctor to leave the medical profession because he encounters racism and choose to become an engineer? The problem is with the NFL is that there isn't an equivalent institution in this country so Colin has to fight.

Yes Colin does need to play in the NFL to bring awareness. When he plays, he is more visible and has more of a platform.

Secondly, the NFL is in America isn't? So how can an institution be insulated of racism if it is located in a racist country?

I won't be boycotting and hope to go to the Colts game when they are down here in Houston. I agree with what Kaep did, but not going to stop watching football. :manny:

I find it funny we got NBA heads in here talking about blackballing the league now, like the NBA didn't do this same basic thing to Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.
