What some cats forget is that some of the chow that turned into slave food (chilins, pickled pigs feet) started as European cuisine from way back in the Middle Ages yet we claiming it :scusthov:
:camby:

Fukk African and Caribbean food. Black American soul food all day. And soul food doesn't equal slave food

Its not extinct over here. but I've notice this generation and most likely next generation has no idea how to cook. The other day I was thinking about the future of a thanksgiving.

Flawed logic. Real Africans and Caribbean folk don't even eat fast food.:snoop: That's that real Cac shyt. That processed shyt. :scust: in fact look up the few countries that do not have mcdonalds. Ghana and jamaica are on that list. We don't want ya poison. Keep that alone g with that southern yabbage. Part of the reason the bible belt has fukkin 60 percent obesity rate.

You're talking about maybe 2% of the entire African Diaspora....:dahell: You can't be this slow......Its a reason why fast food commercials are catered to blacks.....We are their biggest consumer disproportionately speaking....

http://www.yourblackworld.net/african-americans-consume-more-fast-food-than-any-other-race/

We have been eating those types of foods for at least a century and you can look at any photo from 40s to the 70s and everybody was slim and trim...:stopitslime:

Sugar\Grains and super processed food coupled with sedentary lifestyles is what's making us sick...Not Fatback and Hog Maws...

So the Caribbean basin and south America are 2 percent of the diaspora? Is that what you are saying? Furthermore, America as a whole has become more obese so pics of anyone from the 40s-70s will be slimmer. That's common knowledge.

"The history of Southern food is complex," he said. "In many ways, the term soul food is a reduction of our culinary foodways." -- aka a move away from the staples the first slaves from Africa brought with them

The origins of the diet lie in the history of American slavery, according to food historian Jessica B. Harris, who appears in the film. Slaves ate a high-fat, high-calorie diet that would allow them to burn 3,000 calories a day working, she explained.

However, traditional soul food is often cooked with fat, sugar and unhealthy amounts of salt that contribute to weight gain and high blood pressure.

When did a high fat diet become good for you? Isn't that essentially what fast food is? Foh here with that ignorance.

You didn't answer my question about the diaspora. You also didnt address the point that americw as a whole has gotten larger which negates your point about looking at pictures. The health issues facing black Americans are irrefutable and they have been plaguing people for years. Lol so butter is healthier than olive oil or coconut oil? Is that what you are saying? Fat is healthier than grains? People are changing their diets because the evidence cannot be contested breh. That diet is not healthy. Wtf is the difference between a high fat diet composed of swine and whatever else compared to fast food? Since when has a high fat diet been good for you breh? You glossed over a lot of questions I directly asked you

You do know that coconut oil, like butter is a true saturated fat..unlike olive oil...

And what questions are you referring too?

And what questions are you referring too?

I've asked you several questions throughout our discourse.

Are you saying that the Caribbean basin and south America are 2 percent of the diaspora?

Do you believe fats are healthier than grains?

Your point about looking at pictures, Americans as a whole have gotten bigger since the 40s-70s. How does that help your point? Even then Black Americans were larger compared to their contemporaries and that has perpetuated into the modern era.

what's the difference between a high fat diet based on soul food vs one based on fast food?

You believe a high fat diet is good for?

You made all these point in previous posts. I am asking you to address them because they seem very disingenuous.

Coconut oil is a healthier fat than butter. If you have to ask about that you are simply reaffirming the ignorance you have displayed with your previous posts.

Heart-wise, however, coconut oil is "better than butter" and other animal fats because it has no cholesterol, he adds.

Actually, you ain't got enough sense to continue this discourse

Man has been cooking with butter/lard for a half a millennia...and built/conquered kingdoms/societies off this diet...but you programmed to think that a chemical process for extracting oils from vegetables is better than an organic source like lard or butter...:childplease:

Every native or traditional cuisine is high fat. They were all invented when people had to work hard outside. Stop hating on your own heritage because its high fat just like everyone elses. Besides, real fats and butters are better for you than substitutes.
