Yams and Okra are delicious… just not together
That's a pretty dumb comparison and compared to others you are quite intelligent for this board. I have lived here for 20 some years breh. Best friends, exes etc I've eaten in their homes, watched food preparation out of curiosity etc. You cannot tell me I cannot comment. I have every right to and if u lived i ghana for 20 years and by extension adopted/experienced different parts of the culture u would have a right to comment. I am speaking from a broad perspective of experience. Living in Chicago, NC.. visiting louisiana to visit my exes peoples etc. (Those are a few) Furthermore, nas cornel west and others are part of your culture and have labeled soul food as slave food. Do u have any contention with them labeling it as such?
What exactly did you eat?
What im trying to get at is, all soul food, like 90%, have no origins to slave food. The black contribution to whats called "southern" food is vastly undermined. Most of our food comes from under that umbrella, not slave food
yes... once black americans become fully assimilated.... its starting to happen now
