Soul food can be as intense or mellow as you want it to be. Half of the people that cook soul food don't even eat chitlings. The ignorance your displaying on my cultures cuisine is the same shyt they do with African food culture. Nikka do you eat monkey meat..... ok than

As I heat up a plate of ox tails,baked mac and cheese,collard greens and stuffing:sas1:

please don't feel sorry for me:sas2:

Not saying what you got tastes terrible, I'm just sayin you depriving your tastebuds :mjcry;

I see the uppity nikkas out in full force.....Most of that food is eaten globally, but in tried and true insecure fashion, certain white folks done made nikkas ashamed to claim it.....:smh:

A lot of that shyt aint healthy perse, but I will take homemade neckbones over a number 5 from(insert fast food joint here) anyday...

A nikka will try to shyt on hog maws and then hit the boulevard and cop a McDouble add bacon...Yall nikkas aint shyt for real

That McDouble with bacon be hitting the spot though :blessed:

Its not extinct over here. but I've notice this generation and most likely next generation has no idea how to cook. The other day I was thinking about the future of a thanksgiving.

People in the future are gonna be buying cooked turkeys instead of making them :scust:

Lol what? You are dumb as fukk. Lol keep trying to salvage some victory from this massive L you have taken. Ghanaians and those with our DNA do no represent 2 percent of the diaspora. 1 of out 5 slaves came from ghana. Even if the was my argument how is that 2 percent? Damn near 60 percent of jamaicans and those in bahia brazil have ghanaian blood. Evidenced by anazi stories, the presence of twi in patwa, palm oil in peoeples diets, the maroons i could go on forever. Even if that was my argument, which it wasnt, alabama reading comprehension for you, the Caribbean basin and south American individuals of the diaspora held onto the cooking traditions first brought over by slaves far more than blacks here. But they are 2 percent of the diaspora right? Who makes up the other 98 percent? If people from the Caribbean basin and SA make up 2 percent. You are a c00n. Th e worst kind of black person who talks talks talks but doesn't even know his own history. Please stop talking to me until you've read a book.

Why is your addy on the screen though

Where did I say everyone eats chillitlings? Please find where I said that and I'll give u a hunna. Furthermore I asked what the difference between soul food and slave food is. That's not an answer. It appears that you are conflating the facts I've stated about how unhealthy the diet is with ignorance. Please refute the statement that black Americans and their traditional ways of cooking and eating are unhealthy and have had a detrimental effect on the community's health. That's been my argument from jump. Now if you can constructively refute that statement and answer what the difference is between soul food and slave food is we will be cookin
first of all. WTF is SLAVE food:mindblown:

And im pretty sure all African and Caribbean foods are just beacons of public health. Its easy to eat soul food and weed out all the unhealthy stuff. If a dude doesn't like pork, theres plenty of soul food options that involve chicken:mindblown:

I consider slave food, food introduced to black people that was not eaten prior to Trans Atlantic slave trade. Of course people have developed different eating styles but as I stated earlier you see far more similarities between Caribbean and SA diaspora food and african food than u do 'soul food.' Just like i consider Christianity in it's form in the south as a slave religion. Why would u continue promoting something that was forced on your ancestors? Do u see jews promoting methods of living forced on them during the holocaust? never said all african or Caribbean food was a beacon of health but on a fundamental level it is far better for you than 'soul food.' A lot of the foods you are referring to are European foods bro. Several other posters have alluded to this. I personally won't consider Cac food or Cac anything as my heritage. That's just me though

Than you might as well say black american culture is a slave culture. We didn't grow our culture in a country with a majority black population like the Caribbean/sa/Africa did. But lets not paint the picture like blacks were simply bysanders in this. Black ingenuity and creativity in southern food is massive. I would even say dominant. Everything from gumbos and jambalayas to fried chicken and waffles. Hardly slave food

Are there foods in our cuisine that's come from the slave days- Yes, chitlins,pig feet etc are all apart of that aspect. But like I said we hardly eat that anymore
