Will Thanos (MCU) ever be topped as the GOAT comic book movie villain?

I think Thanos topped Joker in Endgame. It pushed him over the edge for me.

Joker is entertaining chaos. Thanos got a whole movie devoted to developing him Infinity War and then a half a movie to solidify him. He's just a more rounded character than Joker was.

And he actually put in work.

I love thanos but heath’s joker holds the title. That character was cold and 3 steps ahead of Batman. Just a savvy and methodical evil genius that can exploit your vulnerabilities.

Thanos was overwhelming in a strength and army kind of way. Really well done but still doesn’t hold up to joker.

The moment Batman put hands to him he folded like a cheap suit. Batman was never personally pushed to the limits and in the end he didn’t even want to kill him or hurt him, he just wanted to troll him

They already have the rights to the Fantastic 4 when they bought Fox.

Well that's probably going to be the next big arc that they lead up to. With a chance for cameos from all the actors who've played different versions of the characters. People will lose their minds if 5 years from now Robert Downey junior shows up wearing the suit and kicking ass.

As another hardcore BP fan, let's be reality tho. Killmonger is not, nor never was top 5 villain in the books tho.

I am being reality, Killmonger is top 5 as far as mainstream populace is concerned. No one gives a shyt what the nerd community or comic bookies thinks about that.

That's why any villain (or hero) can be GOAT tier with the right writer/director was the point being made

Regarding Thanos specifically: a whole generation of 10-15 year olds who missed the koolaid of TDK ten years ago were swept up by Infinity War and End Game. Thanos is their Darth Vader and the MCU is their star wars, let alone TDK/joker.

And we're talking on a global level, not just American like with Joker, Bane, and even Vader to an extent. The amount of eyes on the latter 3 were mostly domestic, whereas every kid across the world watched Thanos. So I think history will be very kind to the purple man

Killmonger and Ledger’s Joker are the GOAT villains to me because they wanted things on a smaller and more relatable scale compared to Thanos. Joker wanted chaos and to push his enemy to break his code, and Killmonger wanted to upend a society and spark a worldwide revolution.

I liked Thanos a lot but the whole “destroy all living things in the universe” angle has been done to death and you know the good guys will win (eventually). I know Thanos did technically succeed but still. The best villains to me change how the heroes think/act rather than just inspire them to defeat the bad guy.

Yea true. If they do the build up slowly and show hints of his darkness in every film. The emotional damage would be nuts. I honestly dont think thanos with phase 4 being cosmic. They can introduce death to bring him back plus he played the hero role win it fit his purpose
