I hate to say this, but Will Smith thought the rules didn't apply to him, mostly ALL of his successful movies are films in which he fits a stereotypical role expectant of a "black guy". Even Hancock, one of Smith's first attempts at open interracial relationships on film (besides Hitch), did exceptionally well because of the racial undertones encoded in the film (stay away from white women). But "Focus", is the horrible reality of race which Hancock turned into a "fun film", which is that the world doesn't accept a handsome powerful black man with an equally beautiful and powerful white woman by his side. Unfortunately it's "unnatural" because we haven't evolved as a human race.
However, 50 Shades of Grey, which features two very mediocre performers, with careers to match is a box office success. And it's about a man with emotional issues, sexually abusing his sadomasochistic "virgin" girlfriend".
A white man can have sex with eight foot tall aliens and save their planet and it's more acceptable than a handsome black man and an attractive white woman being seen as sexual equals. Low key, about a year ago there was rumors Twilight's Kristen Stewart turned down the role because Will Smith was black.

Trying to put them on in that kinda way is weak, create a fresh platform for them. Dont just go and force them into big budget shyt they arent ready for playing beloved white characters. Thats career sabotage, its why nobody wants to see Jaden or Willow. Their entry was forced when it didnt need to be. shyt is weak
annie wasnt big budget...and people didnt seem to have a problem with willow whippin her hair; nor jaden as the karate kid (which made a good amount of money)...people still seem to fukk with willow, but not jaden..and it's not cause of will forcing them on people, more so of his own doing....

The 65 million Annie was made with is more than the 50 million that Focus was made with and people are in here calling Will done as if he isnt gonna triple that. 65 million qualifies as a big budget.
Who said its not weak shyt when actors try to shoe horn their children into leading roles? That shyt gets called out all the time. I dont have a problem with Will trying to put his kids on, it only makes sense. I have a problem with how he tried to do so. And also for how he mismanaged them and got em out in public talking wreckless.
I just expected much more from a black man in Wills position than what he's doing. I thought he would have been directing and producing his own blockbusters by now and instead he's out here looking like a bit of a chump making bullshyt movies
it mightve been made with more money, but that still isnt a big budget...also, the fact that you acknowledge that 'focus' will be a financial success shows even more so how this article was full of shyt...the author just wanted to shyt on Will....cause there are plenty of other examples of box office stars declining more so than this one...
putting family on is barely talked about with others...but when it comes to WIll, it's always up front and center....how can you blame him for how they talk in public? lol....he cant control everything that comes out their mouths....
