LeBron is a power forward too if we're keeping it real, he can just do more. Which is why he's more valuable.
And Lakers were 1.5 games out of 1st place and had just rolled the Warriors when LeBron got hurt (with Lonzo and BI following soon after). GTFO talking like they wouldn't have made the playoffs with a healthy Bron.
Like I already pointed out, Kareem had seasons where he led in all those categories and Magic still got more of the credit.
LeBron and AD are pretty much the same in points, rebounds, steals, and FG%, so acting like AD has some big "lead" there is silly. LeBron averages way more assists (and is much more important to the offense) while AD averages way more blocks (and is much more important to the defense).
The clincher is that the Lakers are great without AD on the court but they suck without LeBron on the court. LeBron can provide enough defense to cover for AD but AD can't provide enough offense to cover for LeBron. And LeBron is a far more valuable leader than AD. So in the end he's clearly more valuable.
LBJ & AD +10.2
Just LBJ +11.7
Just AD -3.7
How can you even begin to argue that?
Steph and KD had a loaded team in ADDITION to having each other. They split the scoring 3 ways with Klay, split the distribution responsibilities 3 ways with Draymond, and neither one was a top-3 defender on the team. Either one of them could go to sleep for an entire game and they'd usually roll the opponent anyway. Situation isn't even remotely comparable.
Why didn't you comment on my examples of Kobe/Shaq, Magic/Kareem, West/Wilt, and West/Baylor?
I could give a dozen or more examples of other NBA players who finished near the top of the MVP race while another teammate was top-5.
