No, I just don't think BF4 raised the bar for the FPS genre. "Raising the bar" imo means to do something that reinvents the genre.

those people are stupid, the new physics in 2k make the game feel more like real life, which is what they were aiming for, and how is forza a downgrade outside the most necessary AI upgrade in racing game history? that alone makes it an upgrade. I cant speak for KZ tho

I don't think there's any set of statements that are going to get us "somehwere". I don't see you all of a sudden saying "ah alright, Mario 3D world is the best game out this holiday!" and vice versa. But you brought in how you feel others are praising Mario and trashing other games so I was addressing that statement directly.

Sorry if the thread mislead, but it really isn't about individual opinions. It's about theoverreaching narrative that X1/PS4 games are not innovative yet Mario and Zelda are
I'd argue the new physics more accurately reflect what happens to a ball when you bounce it off someone's head but they don't accurately reflect what happens in a real basketball game with professionals (they don't make as many mistakes as the mishaps caused by the new physics). Many feel forza is a step back in terms of content. Much fewer cars than at launch of Forza 4.
NSMBU is a good example of a derivative Wii U game and I think the content of reviews reflected that quite well. It's not some conspiracy to praise Nintendo and bash others.
Sad part is that these dudes will label you a nintendo hater for having an opinion like this.
I was a nintendo fan all the way up till the wii, I chose 64 over psx, gamecube over ps2 and xbox..
Ive played damn near every nintendo exclusive up to this wii u, ive done my history, the games are not much different than the previous ones. In zeldas case its worse in damn near every way from world, setting, story, dungeons, and difficulty.
But everyone acts like nintendo is so perfect, and they will never have the criticism needed to take their games to the next level.

Minish cap was a damn handheld game.
Im talking the main console zelda series.
And ive played and beaten every single zelda game including the handheld ones. (Not including the the Phillips cd ones)

exactly I had the snes then chose the nintendo 64, and I sat there as ps1 made me look like an idiot. I have had my fare share of their games, I just can be unbiased an say they have not made the amount of progression that a game like mgs has or forza, they may not have as many cars or the weather right now but we know dlc is coming and you cant say that the drivatar isnt groundbreaking. whats so groundbreaking about mario 34834
