If I was to pick up a Wii U today I would get:

Mario 3D World
Wind Waker HD
Pikmin 3
TW101
Rayman Legends
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Other than TW101, these games are all good and are have good ratings :manny: So yea...it does have better games right now.
This is very subjective though and we're talking about launch lineups vs a year's worth of software.

Graphics and presentation to the level of quality of 2k is new and it does benefit the game to a great degree. Half of the enjoyment of playing a sports sim is the atmosphere. Adding a level of realism to the atmosphere improves the game immensely.

And 3d is not new to Mario or other platformers.

Yes Mario has some new powers, but collecting powers that alter gameplay is not a new concept in Mario games or platformers in general. It's more an evolution than a revolution.

You can't downplay the evolution of other games/genres while pretending that mario is something fresh and new.
I didn't say 3D is new to Mario. I said HD is new to 3D Mario. And really it's new to Mario in general because NSMBU didn't take advantage of it's HD-ness as much as this game does. I'd argue that a bump from SD to HD for 3D Mario is way more significant than the jump in resolution from NBA 2K13 PS360 vs NBA 2K14 4Bone.

I'm saying that the Mario changes are just that much more unique than the games you're pointing out. I'm not saying it's a revolution; I'm saying it is more unique to its genre than NBA 2K14 is to its or than BF4 is to its. You want to tell me how unique Octodad, Binding of Isaac, Below and Towerfall are, then we can talk. You telling me that BF4 is as innovative as Mario 3D World I can't see... at all.

so you dont think their intergration of vehicles did not have other games adding vehicles to their multi player?

The honest truth is nintendo games havnt really advanced much since they originally made the switch to 3d.

If you only had an xbox1 or ps4 you would be just fine.

But if you just had a wii u?
:usure:

That new mario looks fun as hell but its the same gameplay mechanics since the 64, only now its a bunch of random masses of platform obstacle courses.

Zelda should be way more advanced than the shyt its become. Dark souls made me never wanna touch a zelda game again.

The last metroid was the other m:usure:

Smash bros success depends on the online functionality and we know how nintendo could give two shyts about online play.

I just dont understand how people see any evolution and advances outta nintendos first party line up. These games play exactly how they have been for the past 15 years. Only thing nintendo changes is gimmicky ways to play the game.

*shrugs* didn't anything to the contrary. Point of the thread is Nintendo is making the same game over and over right? Yet this NEW 3D world is just dope as hell
Point of the thread is Nintendo is being praised for releasing the same games over and over again, while other games are being trashed for the same concept.

Why? Is there a better shooter out there in your opinion?

I don't think anybody's trashing them. I think first of all, most people disagree with you - they think Mario 3D World is genuinely more innovative and unique. Second of all, they think that even outside of not being particularly unique, some of those games just aren't as good to them as they may be to you. Some people don't like the new physics for 2K, some people don't think there's anything new in KZ, some people think Forza is a downgrade outside of Drivatars.

I think the changes to Mario are on the same level as the changes to the other games.
I hear you. I disagree. You seem disappointed that many other people disagree with you too.

Thats my point, these "new" mario games all look like the same mario I quit playing 15 years ago. the graphic and the gameplay look the exact same with the exception of "3d" (gimmick) yet nintendo and these so called "experts" act like these games are great and on the same level as the ones on ps4 and X1
