At worst, John Salmons

How about this just for comparison sakes I'm just estimating there career value and this is subject to change greatly.

no. he also refused to go to certain teams like the Nets. There was a story a couple of years ago that Calipari wanted to draft Kobe instead of Kerry Kittles but Kobe's agent said if he did, he'd go and play in Italy. That scared off most teams.

You're right that some teams pussied out because he was a highschooler. Philly considered him at #1 because of his workouts but were too scared to do the bold move and went the safe route with AI. The Clippers famously told Kobe that they wanted to draft him but people wouldn't take them seriously if they drafted a high schooler so they also pussied out.
Kobe denied that ever happening.

honestly he had about the same hype as Shabaz last year....This class was thought to be so good because there were multiple talents available not because Wiggins was supposed to be Bron...They said he is one of the best pro prospects since Bron...Not saying he was better then Wall, Rose, Durant, a bunch of others...Every year there are hyped up guys...

Ya'll see what MCW did at Cuse not much of anything the NBA is a different game...You have dudes like Adam Morrision who could score 28pt a night in college but it didn't translate to the NBA.

Michael Beasly was the last dude I remember down right dominating college basketball to the tune of 27pt and 12rb a night...Dudes on UK and KU aren't going to put up big numbers no way no how to much additional talent...shyt Wiggins may not even be the highest pick on his team and he plays with 3 other potential 1st rd picks outside of himself and Embiid.

college and the nba is totally different

look at jimmer fredette 28 points per game

chandler parsons never averaged more than 12 points in his 4 years of college at florida

luthor head was better than deron williams in college

His only real problem is his ball-handling skills.
Yup, he's going to have to improve that and his ability to finish with contact in the lane. I don't think Durant was particularly good at either in college but he's pretty damn good at it now.

He reminds of Harrison Barnes in that they seem not to use their athleticism until pushed.

When I see wiggings I see a more athletic Paul George at the stage that he is at. He doesn't have the body type or court vision to be compared to lebron, that was a unfair comparison. But I do think wiggings has the potential to be a more effective Paul George and that's a hellava player. Most of the players @Art Barr is naming have pretty much blossomed as basketball players, especially Jabari Parker who struggles to impact games when he isn't shooting well and wiggings seems like he is just starting to groom as a player. His potential will make him the first or second pick depending on where his teammate gets picked.

if you say, paul George.
I think you mean Paul George as a freshie.
as, Wiggins is not showing anything pg did as a darkhorse NBA prospect late in his college career.
on top of the fact, Wiggins play nuffin like pg the last three years.

I know pg, as I was the only guy on this board.
who said in college heading into the draft.
that pg, was the next tmac 2.o.
no one, in this community at that time.
even gave a damn about pg.

he is nowhere near what pg is currently as a pro.
or, before he ramped up to the current incarnation of pg in the NBA.

Pretty much this. Had he spent ONE year at Duke though? :ohlawd:

Kobe would have been even worse and stifled his development as an NBA pro.
if, kobe had of gone to duke.

Kobe, made the right choice to stick to his guns and go the NBA.
on top, of forcing a coup to go to LA.

:dahell: Durant was excellent at drawing fouls in college, you lucky sports reference didn't have draw %s at the time :beli:

During his junior year, he helped the Tigers reach the 2008 NCAA Tournament, averaging 23.3 points over six games as the Tigers finished in second place, losing in the National Championship game to the Kansas Jayhawks 75–68 in overtimeWrong

Tourney time Rose took that team over. It's a reason why he leap frogged Beasley for the #1 pick when he held that spot for most of the season. He dominated the tourney.

Of course I'm not comparing him 2 Paul George as a pro. I'm talking bout George as a college freshman. Why would I compare a college freshman to a all star nba player. It seems like your expectations of wiggings might be a lil unreasonable
