Horn of Africa.
This narrative is borderline disrespectful.

-for one Kurt Cobain changed music at his time and was revolutionary for rock music, what has x done besides being another soundcloud rapper?

-for lyricism comparing Cobain's pen game to x is laughable and you must be 14

- Cobain advocated for human rights.. lets not get into x history

- Cobain was vocal about racism, x was 'lil dylan roof'

etc

mourn in peace but don't reach like this.

You obviously weren't around during the grunge era.

Kurt might've done some fukk shyt every now and then like wear a dress but it was nirvanas/seattles music that changed the cultural zietgiest

Xxx didn't have the same effect. He's more like avril levigne

I didn't see as much outrage when I saw him compared to Pac,why is that:martin:.?
He is definitely closer to Curt Cobain than Pac,in that he won't be remembered by nikkas 20 years from now.
Maybe by some weird little emo cacs that were into rock and roll.
Rock and Roll must be pretty trash and unpopular too at the moment,so he may be the equiveleant to Curt Cobain in this generation.
Can't be the 2pac of this generation or any other rapper who died with an ounce of popularity, won't even be Mac Dre or Soulja Slim status.
I said this yesterday as well comparing him to Cobain, just to note that he is not hiphop and doesn't deserve the respect of the culture for that reason. Just on the grounds he isn't of the culture, the culture owes him nothing.

I can see the comparison. :ehh:

Yes. I see it as well.

Its ironic because Kurt was a terrible person leading up to his death. He beat his girlfriend and tortured her, would abuse his parents and members of Pearl Jam, not show up for shows, was pushing to go solo as an artist, abused every substance known to man.

Imagine if his life was chronicled online like X's was. Imagine the tweets Kurt wouldve sent out while on his countless binges.

Go read up on Kurt before commenting about X.

As far as star appeal and impact - Kobain was an icon while he was alive while X is finally getting his dues after hes dead.

Additionally, alot of these fake hip-hop purists on here and in the world dont want to grant X his dues because they consider him a "mumble rapper"

They both have taken two genres of music and have combined them to later become the frontman of a new genre. X combined Rock with Rap/Hip Hop while Kurt combined Emo with Alternative and Rock to lead a a new genre of grunge music. Like Kurt, X is starting to influence many artists to join his style of music

OP you don't know shyt about music or it's history.

Just bow out and log off.

You know
STOP COMPARING THESE NEW AGE FIGURES TO THE PAST!

"Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, is the Michael Jackson of our Generation"

_____ is the 2pac of our Generation.

"Black Panther is our Malcom X"

Instead of letting your era speak for itself, you have to compare to the past and convince yourselfs your era is great. GTFOH!

  1. He was misunderstood by the media constantly as a person who was a bad influence among teens, like Kurt Cobain with his grunge music back in the 90's.

  2. He was a different lyricist. Like Kurt, X writes about some very emotional stuff unlike his rapper counterparts, but also knows how to write things that lift people's spirits and gets them turnt up. Kind of like Kurt Cobain writing style that was the opposite of his Rock/Alternative/Grudge counterparts. This is giving music to two different kinds of demographics. (X with "I Don't Wanna Do This Anymore" and "Look At Me!" and Kurt with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Heart-Shaped Box")

  3. Both had a very depressing past. With family and relationships. (X with being sent to jail under domestic abuse for hurting his girlfriend and Kurt with his stressful relationship with Courtney Love)

  4. They both have taken two genres of music and have combined them to later become the frontman of a new genre. X combined Rock with Rap/Hip Hop while Kurt combined Emo with Alternative and Rock to lead a a new genre of grunge music. Like Kurt, X is starting to influence many artists to join his style of music.

  5. Although both have so much money, power, and fame, there are deep thoughts that are racking and eating their brain alive that lead them to a deep depression and suicidal thoughts because the pressure from the media, relationships, family, and always trying to impress people with their music.

I need you to do one thing for me breh... Post me an XXX song that embodies all of that which you just wrote.. because Ive only heard two examples of his work and was not impressed (bet award freestyle which was hot trash and roll in peace by kodak where he just used the flow kodak was already using)

so if you can post one song for me that will make me wanna dive into his entire catalog so I can begin to understand where you are coming from it would be greatly appreciated

As someone that's :flabbynsick: according to coli standards I'll say that this thread is at the very least misguided. Do you even understand how impactful you have to be to yank the spotlight away from huge bands like Guns and Roses, Motley Crew and Def Leopard in a time were the internet didn't exist for the general public?
