With a certain sector of fans he is . New York heads (Just like 40 and face are with the south and west)

But I guess because he didnt have a larger crossover beyond his region maybe? Didnt have as many hit songs as other GOATs?

He should be but I think for that reason he remains top 15

Fair enough. On that note, I really never cared for GZA but always respect dudes craft. Dude's lyricism is impeccable but there's something about Ghost that speaks to me. Dude's albums are like anime flicks with how over the top the shyt can be. Even his first album felt out of this world when it dropped. I'm just saying, Ghost is an acquired taste for most rap heads but to each its own.
Really one of the GOAT storytellers

Theres a ton of histrionics in here. He might have been the livest nikka in a group of live nikkas. His style, was some of the best in rap history, and influenced so many people.

Ghost has two absolute stone cold classics, with two entirely different flows, and a strong third if the original bp comes out with clearances. Think about that for a minute, few tag teams had as much rapport as rae and ghost.

Shot some of the illest videos, was on the lo trend wild early, and a whole legion of men will never stop wearing clarks. When i first heard supreme clientele, that shyt was amazing, life altering.

To say shyt like his music doesnt age is a lie. Iron man came out over twenty years ago and start to finish the shyt is great. Supreme clientele is a fukkin master piece, his sistine chapel.

And hes been involved in some pretty thorough shyt, from what i hear.

Im reppin the good dr x

He always has dope albums with dope production and collabs. Underrated storyteller too.

Not sure where he ranks but he ranks somewhere.

Then again, I don't like ranking people. I've listened to too much hip hop for that, it starts to blur if I try to put together a list.
Real shyt... Ive even given up on ranking albums... I couldnt put Cuban Linx above Infamous or vice versa.... Depends on my mood and all that...

And there's no way you can compare Ghostface to Snoop Dogg or Pimp C, unless you go by objective criteria...

Ghostface not removing any of these nikkas up outta of they spots.
fukk an LL Cool j :dahell:

Im hesitant to include any 80s rappers in my top 10... thats personal bias, but also you got to look at how the craft evolved.

In rock, for example... you don't rank Chuck Berry or even Howlin' Wolf with Jimi Hendrix... they aint on the same level

Not even just his old Albums
because his lyrics are all over the place, switching topic and narrative mid lines all the time. hes very hard to follow, a kaleidoscope of visuals been thrown at you,.

but if you take a step back, and just hear the track, flow, cadences, its dope,

I fukk wit' Ghost heavy so don't come @ me, please.

  • His music doesn't age well
  • He's a one-trick pony
  • He comes off as lyrical miracle-y at times
  • The kids have moved on
He's def. T10-15 in my book.

Fishscale :wow:

No hits big enough to put him in that category

No album big enough either. Cuban Linx is universally accepted by all of hip hop as being a classic but Supreme Clientele is more limited in its reach

He's flown completely under the radar for a decade now (Fishscale was the last album that even got close to noticed)

I say all this as someone who would easily put Ghost in my top 5

It's a taste thing. Like scarface, he's one of those top five picks that doesn't have you :dahell: but also a pick that's :ehh:in top 10 or 20 based on taste or age. Below 20 and I don't think you're being objective based on flow, impact, etc.

His verses and skits on Purple Tape are godly. Ironman amazing. SC the first album of 2000s imo, and created the production wave that dipset and the rest rode to successful careers even tho half couldn't rap for shyt. He's top 5 for me but that's bc Im old. Should he be in a 18 year olds top 5? Nah probably not.
