I agree 100%

Mostly I blame Snoop cuz he never respected Warren's production like that

Hence that garbage ass 213 album with no Warren G beats

:pacspit:

Warren's first four albums were laced with great production, I still listen to them to this day

I was surprised Snoop even let him on that first Eastsidaz album.... G Child produced a banger... Didn't know he had that hard shyt in him

Most of the posts in the thread answer that question. A lot of his best work was music he did on his own albums and most of it is from the mid 90's. Many don't even know he produced. His most recent work that was pretty big is that Jeezy joint that I think featured Ne-Yo from 2011-2012.

Yeah.
He should've done a lot more outside producing.
That Jeezy joint was nice too and that was done after a long period of him not having no songs he produced on the radio
It just went to show he could still make a joint that's not trendy but at the same time could still appeal to a wider audience if he wanted too.

Couple other reasons that haven't been mentioned:

1) Overshadowed by his brother and did not appear on 2001
2) Follow-up to Regulate flopped. Regulate sold 3 million copies and Take a Look Over Your Shoulder struggled to go Gold.

One of the biggest disappointments in West Coast Rap history IMO. Album should have been solely produced by Warren G, DJ Quik, Soopafly, and Daz.

Soopafly is in the same boat in regards to not getting any respect. He should have been a star producer in his own right but he was content with being Snoop's Weed Carrier

Warren is dope. I'm surprised Snoop never got Warren to helm an album of his considering they were in a group together. I know he played a role in the sound of Doggystyle, but it seemed logical that he would either get Warren or Quik to helm an album vs him getting all of the outside producers who didn't really fit his style to produce songs for him.
