Why is Warren G so underrated as a producer?

Warren is dope. I'm surprised Snoop never got Warren to helm an album of his considering they were in a group together. I know he played a role in the sound of Doggystyle, but it seemed logical that he would either get Warren or Quik to helm an album vs him getting all of the outside producers who didn't really fit his style to produce songs for him.

Yeah.
I agree.
shyt, Warren was in charge of the samples for The Chronic. :wow:

One of my favorite producers and artists of all time. Warren's "G-Funk" documentary will be premiering on Youtube soon. I consider his first 4 albums classics. The two that came out after "Return Of The Regulator" had some great songs on them too, but overall they were a letdown. The "Regulate...G Funk Era Part. II - EP" he put out in 2015 was good. I still don't know why "Party We Will Throw Now" (with The Game & Nate Dogg) wasn't on the EP. The 213 album was dope even without beats from Warren. I don't know what y'all talking about. Here's one of my favorite songs of all time.

weird thing really was very confused he didnt do any beats on that garbage 213 album

That's because Snoop was calling the shots.

he must have a weird love hate thing with Dre

Dre never puts his people on dont even acknowlege his sons

I remember reading Cold 187Um's interview from some magazine where he basically said that Dre used to treat Warren like a dog.

I think what fukked Warren up the most was being known as Dre’s little step-brother and thus not receiving enough respect or recognition because of it which is a shame because I always felt that Warren was a better producer then him.

I remember watching an interview with Warren G a few years ago where he was asked about why he doesn't work with Snoop and Dre more and he was saying it's up to them and looked kind of sad telling that. It is a shame they never worked together as much as they should've, but everything they've done together in the past has been great. Snoop wasn't on Warren G's first album because Suge wouldn't let his artists appear on albums that were not coming out on Death Row. Suge never wanted Warren on Death Row and they had some beef too, like Warren getting his chain snatched etc. Dre told him he needs to be his own man and sign with another label and that was good advice.

Snoop and Dre didn't seem to respect his contributions on a musical tip and he didn't really produce for anyone outside of his own albums and artists.

I dunno if he waits for people to come to him but he should of been shopping beats, shyt he's still got it now, he should be out there hustling.

That whole EP was quality.
