he is a weird place as far as content to me. I've had enough boss talk,i need some grown man Ross talking about what makes sense to a grown man.Black Dollar kinda did that for me so i hope he keeps that going

A 10+ year run for an artist who was never huge in his prime (no plat albums or singles in real time) is impressive. He was always a level below Tip, Ye, Wayne, 50, Jeezy etc.

Ross has had a great career all things considered, and he should continue to eat well off his core fan base for a long time.

TI was never as popular as Ross. Popularity is more than how many units you're pushing. :mjlol:

Ye isn’t in the big 4 anymore.. he’s been flopping consistently for the past 3 years. Etc

I’d put Chance the Rapper there since he’s selling out arenas solo
His brand is still big. Whatever the fukk he does gets instant attention.

He had a nice run but yeah he considered an old head now....but damn he stuck around wayyy longer than expected....I even think he moved some rappers down a few notches on the " all-time" list

He definitely displaced some nikkas on the GOAT leaderboard...

Let's pause here. The only cats on this list with better careers than Ross, and are arguably better rappers than Ross, is Wayne and Ye. Tip, 50, Jeezy, come on, fam. Those nikkas not close to Ross...

Rozay on that Top 20-25 list. I don't know why cats are so hesitant with him. He is a Top 5 South rapper ever...

:skip: I’m not a youngin. I’m just not a TI dikkrider who ignores reality. How many artists fiended for a TI feature? When did TI ever release a mixtape that was praised by the streets as much as Rich Forever? Even now, plenty of people are asking for more Ross, but you won’t see anyone doing the same for TI.

I’m not a fan of his music, but I can’t deny that 50 has unquestionably had a better career than Ross. Or, at least, they’re in the same lane. His successful investments in Hollywood properties places him above Ross, imo. :francis:

He prolly makin good money outside of rap from his investments so hes not too involved in the music side anymore

I mean I remember watchin his first videos, his whole rap persona was that of a boss, larger than life.. however that CO shyt killed him in the long run

Only reason he didnt fall off the map was cuz he smart and made some solid connections within the industry i.e. jay n diddy

Plus he signed wale and meek mill.... and was featured in many hits

But I feel like he was never a big sellin artist... think he only reached single plat at the height of his career and he never headlined a big venue tour

His caricature like persona is what he will always be remembered for, never was a top seller n even tho he wasnt wack he wasnt dope neither

Good mic presence and voice but basic as fukk skills otherwise
The CO stuff didn’t effect Ross career at all
nipsey can feel that niche tbh, it would be dope from being a gang member to "bossing up" he got the beats, lyrics and cadence imo for it. Not to mention his moves off the mic in the business world.

Nipsey can’t do what Ross does in the slightest
