1st Round Playoff Exits
this is 2014 r and b. HORRIBLE LYRICS.

When a rich nikka want you
And your nikka can't do nothing for ya
These hoes ain’t loyal
These hoes ain’t loyal
Yeah, yeah, let me see

[Bridge: Chris Brown]
Just got rich
Took a broke nikka’s bytch
I can make a broke bytch rich
But I don’t fukk with broke bytches

[Verse 2: Chris Brown]
Got a white girl with some fake titties
I took her to the bay with me
Eyes closed smoking marijuana
Rolling up that Bob Marley, I’m a rasta
She wanna do drugs, smoke weed, get drunk
She wanna see a nikka trap
She wanna fukk all the rappers

[Hook]

[Verse 3: Chris Brown]
Black girl with a big booty
If she a bad bytch, let’s get to it (right away)
We up in this club
Bring me the bottles
I know girl, that you came in this bytch with your man
That’s a no-no girl
All this money in the air
I wanna see you dance
:whoa: :whoa: don't even try to pass that off as R&B

So we gon act this song ain't true R&B with a contemporary twist to it.

R&B isn't dead and the biggest records for the last two years have been R&B. Blurred Lines, Get Lucky and Happy. Majority of blacks aren't supporting it or fukking with it.

Miguel is the only new male talent that's hot.

I like Bobby V but nikka is not even on the radar. I though words was good but it didn't stick.

Eric Bellinger....writes for usher, chris brown, justin beiber
Marcus Cooper mixtape was also on point

ya casual R&B nikkas should check
http://www.thisisrnb.com/

ya really don't know R&B to talk about it

You're part of the problem, not soulful enough.

Those are engineered mainstream songs. Now this:

:whew:

Oh my fault. It has to be a certain type of R&B. :camby: Can't have it both ways. Second, Blurred Lines and Happy been out for awhile before they caught on. Maybe that shyt you are vouching for isn't that great. I do not like Kem at all especially having Ronald Isley singing about Facebook. :russ:

I feel you but that's the issue some have is why is it not mainstream anymore. That thread that compared the 1997 billboard top songs to 2013 was eye opening.

1997 top charts had
Blackstreet
R. Kelly
Keith Sweat
En Vogue
Usher
Monica

2013...you already know artist like that would never be on the top charts outside of Usher.

If were talking about why R&B isn't mainstream anymore, than were having a different conversation. But it seems as though people seem hurt that the mainstream (aka white America) isn't co-signing black music. But let's not fool ourselves into thinking that the musicianship and artistry isn't lacking in mainstream R&B. Not to mention those were some of the very elements that made the genre so popular worldwide. Artists like Keith Sweat, En Vogue etc were largely supported by the black community. Keith Sweat and En Vogue have a major following here and overseas. Support from the Black community is why Keith Sweat is still able to do shows here in the states.

But if we were to go back in time and transport Teddy Pendegrass, Bobby Womack, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross,Stevie Wonder, Hi-five, Babyface etc into 2014's music climate, they wouldn't sell in the mainstream and possibly in today's black community as well. The quality decline in music overall has been felt across the board.

I blame these big corporations, radio stations etc. Neo soul is still being made but we aren't hearing it.

Th whites are trying to transition a white face onto what was traditionally considered R&B.

Black people need to assemble a panel of non tap dancing judges who are held accountable to create a label similar to the parental advisory stickers to award to musicians who do BLACK music...that way we won't have mainstream coming in trying to curse us with Vanilla Ice.

We need ownership of our brand.
