Research Triangle Park, the UNC College system, and the RDU area. Eastern NC is basically SC as far as ignorant cacs and the ever present smell of pig shyt. Being from Kinston, Im still bitter about that Global Transpark finesse those cacs pulled on the 90s-early 2000s

Wilmington is trash compared to Myrtle Beach.

To answer OP, NC is more like VA than it to SC. Deeper down south you get, the more backwoods it feel. Even GA is backwoods outside of ATL. It feel that way up until you hit the major cities in Florida like Jacksonville, Orlando and Miami. Florida feel like it’s own little country. It got its own set of rules.

depend on where you go too though. shyt feel diff in the R than being in like kinston/ ayden

Lives in Fayetteville. Has hella hoes throughout. Spring Lake, Dunn, Newton, Wilson, Greensboro, Raleigh/Durham, Charlotte. Lillington. Whew.

But to answer your question, I feel like having Bragg situated in the city helps a lot. Brings a lot of new faces, opportunities and not importantly money to the surrounding areas. Although the Ville still isn’t a top tier city when compared to what’s near, still a booming place nonetheless. I’m from Ohio so the Ville was one of the first times I saw nikkas hustling but they all wasn’t selling drugs. shyt opened my young 17 year old eyes

Bragg is the only thing really keeping the city afloat as far as major impact. FSU/Methodist help out too

My mee maw used to work at the Kinston shirt factory for 20 years. Couldn't get on at Dupont because cacs jealously guarded access to those jobs. NAFTA killed the K.

F’Nam is so depressing . Like as soon as you cross over into city limits , you feel this heavy , desolate feeling of an place barely holding on to a lifeline riding on the remnants of crumbling infrastructure that could completely give out at any minute.

There are a number of Carolina folks on here (South & North) so there are Fayetteville threads on here echoing that sentiment.

Legislators REALLY dropped the ball on everything east of Raleigh aside from Wilmington, which is a primary tourist destination, pretty much sells itself . Kinda like Myrtle in SC but Wilmington is not as universally popular .

and it just so happens ENC is the blackest part of the state that they chose to neglect . :snoop:

It’s really depressing across damn near the entire coastal plain of North Carolina . And its become the poster child of the state’s poverty , despite them poor white folks in the mountains blowing up their houses from the Meth labs :snoop:

I don’t see any anchor city emerging in Eastern NC for quite some time . Our grandkids might be able to see it one day :snoop:

South Carolina reminds me a lot of Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana or Alabama. Just backwards for no fugging reason at all.

where they cross-over and clap boards
which beaches breh? I always thought SC beaches was better. Going to Hilton Head next week, should I be going to a NC beach instead?

Was just about to ask this…. What beaches in NC are good?:ohhh:

I haven’t really fukked with NC but I love Asheville. Was there last fall for like a week.

Wilmington is trash compared to Myrtle Beach.

NC beaches are better. Myrtle Beach is a trailer park compared to Wilmington, Topsail, Ocean Isle, Wrightsville, and the Outer Banks are way better. The water is so nasty at Myrtle and it's way too crowded. Myrtle only has commercial things and that's it.

Now Hilton Head island is a nice spot. People call it the Cary of beaches and I can see why, but I had a great time. All I saw their was old people and families. I was there for 4 days and can count the number of black people I saw on 2 hands. You're gonna spend money there. The beach wasn't overcrowded like at myrtle and there's not much night life.

So was Virginia. Just as many or more African Americans are connected to Virginia than South Carolina, because Virginia had more slaves.

Statistics on Slavery
South Carolina low country had one of THE most booming economies during antebellum due to slave labor for rice production. So many Africans were being brought in to keep that rollin . :to:

Man this is funny cause I had to stay in Fayetteville to cover the release of Rae Carruth and I was like damn this place looks depressing smh. The areas leading up to Fayetteville had me like :picard: Man it looked like we drove into a time warp like back into the 1920’s or earlier. Man I was done when I saw a vote for whoever the sheriff is sign in the middle of a cotton field. The best thing about Fayetteville was this restaurant that was jumping on that Sunday morning when we had to head back to Charlotte. I have no idea what it’s called but I do know it was a Buffett and it was packed.

Yeah, thats big facts. Even for a military base, Bragg got a different feel, the energy still on some 60-70 Vietnam shyt frfr. A person would have to spend some time there to get it

You gotta remember too, that side of State really got bad juju ( i mean everywhere does, but New Bern, Goldsboro, Wilmington, Kinston, Ayden, Elizabeth City shyt like that, them places be differerent, and alot of state instutions in the area used to use the poorer blacks for manual labor up into modern times. (if im not mistaken, the hospital in Goldsboro used to lease out the mentally impaired to work the tobacco fields in Kinston too
