Why is Michael Jordan generally considered to be the GOAT? What would you say to persuade me to believe he's the best if I don't think so? đź«

he has the combination of statistical dominance, team wins/championships, personal accolades and most importantly, cultural image as the greatest ambassador the NBA has ever known. No other player has all of that, and this no detriment against other player. Bron is the greatest player ive ever seen lace em up but was born 20 years too late. The impact Jordan had on sports during the advent of affordable Cable TV will never be replecated again.
Great way to put it :salute:

"The league feared him, the league depended on him" is the real kicker.

The comparisons will never stop but they should. Now don't get it twisted like I think that Mike did what he did for people socially...but real shyt, I don't give a fukk how many fights you win, you're not going to eclipse Muhammad Ali. Mike is the same way, for his own reasons with basketball. And that's even before you get the objective shyt like stats and accolades, which heavily weigh in his favor removed from all cultural context.

I'll never l understand how anyone who saw both play can say that. MJ is superior.

This is false and I wish people would stop this shyt. LeBron was valued as a legend well before he had any longevity to speak of. Now that he has longevity it enhances his legend but his legend wasn't founded upon and isn't rooted in longevity...

I gotta agree. Kareem's (respectfully) career is about longevity

I love Bron, but, look at this bullshyt.

People act like Mike Played 8 seasons before Pip came

Mike had two full years and a broken foot shorted 2nd year

Pip got drafted before Mike's 4th year

He was supposed to have 3 rings before he played 190 games in his career? :laff:

Yep, also we overrate pippen due to his success with MJ. He's a great player, but i put him neck and neck with jimmy butler. And yet pippen is listed like 34 in the top 75 players or all time, and butler is not on that list at all.
If people are still talking about Jimmy Butler in 30 years the way we talk about Pippen i'll stand corrected, but i doubt it.
