I think he is going to have to go the will smith route and really delve into it, leaving rap behind.
Those aren't joggers you dumbassLook how Kanye titty bigger than Kim's
Here's Eddie Murphy in a leather suit
Hers a man in the 80s in ripped jeans
You really think this shyt started with Yeasel you are so clueless
you're such a bytch
"This is a god!" Bet you hold Kanye above your parents
I would bet he's designing it.I question really how "involved" Kanye is on the design process of everything.
Is he actually in the studios where the boards and sketches are being drawn? Is he actually choosing what material to use and what factories to have everything made at? Or does someone else do it and he says "yes" or "no"
to whatever he's shown?
I've felt this way as well. His clothing line is way too entrenched with his personal celebrity. As his celebrity goes, so will it. The average person who buys those high end brands or any brand for that matter don't know shyt about the creator. They don't know wear he lives, who he's fukking, who he hates, etc. We know all of this and then some about Kanye. This poses as a huge psychological barrier to ppl who come across his clothes unless you're a fan of his of course. When you go to buy Gucci the only mental association is luxury and that Beyonce wore it or Tom Cruise wire it and Heidi Klum wears it. You see yeezy and all you think of is Kanye. If you're a Taylor Swift fan you're probably already predispositioned to not buy it regardless of how it looks or fits. I doubt he'll ever be able to remove that psychology behind the consumer.I'm not a fashion guy at all but one thing I've noticed is that major designers use stars or high profile models to build their brand behind. Kanye tried to use himself from what I see. I could be wrong though.
I pretty much gave up on trying to cop a pair at retail price. This is what I mean. I looked it up and supposedly they only made 5000 pairs. One man bought 5% of the entire stock. They don't make that many which contributes to them selling out so quickly and their exclusivity. These are the people he's appealing to. Collectors...not the average shopper.
Most garbage post in this entire thread, Kanye's influencing fashion in youth amongst all races to this day, which includes black people. He was fine before he wanted to be a cac. He changed the way young black american dress and he could have taken advantage of that, prolly made billions. Hip-hop culture is just as if not more influential than Europeans stuff. Should have ruled over black fashion instead of being a c00n for white fashion.
Kanye interned at Fendi.I'm no fashion expert but didn't he essentially skip the whole "internship" period dudes like raf simons and tom ford had to go thru by working for big name brands?
He funded and ran his own brand from the gate. shyt is going take a couple years and it's going be some bumps in the road
At this point, Kanye's celebrity is so sky high anybody would kill for a cosign for him.I'm not a fashion guy at all but one thing I've noticed is that major designers use stars or high profile models to build their brand behind. Kanye tried to use himself from what I see. I could be wrong though.
Kim K, for as much as I can't stand her, was tweeting pics of some rare (unreleased) colorways of yeezys. His friends and family get the samples.I just assumed he sold all his shot to other celebs and athletes, since they are most likelY the only ones who can afford his asking price.
Probably, he's a pretty good artists based on his drawings back from when he was at art school, and every now and then you'll see some design Kanye drew for a room or set or shoe or whatever.I would bet he's designing it.
And if he isn't....if he's cosigning and approving these designs....he's still to blame for this awful line of "fashion"
Yo I remember seeing Ye perform at the Magic show in like 06, and I swear that nikka was rocking them same boots back then. I mean the nikka literally walked right by me, and I looked down at em like . This was 06 tho at the Palms, and to be fair he hadn't blown yet.I didnt say he invented anything. He influences the fashion game. LV, Balmain all Copy what Ye does.
And I forget about he started the distressed T-shirts trend.
Show me Rick James wearing leather joggers?
Show me a pic of a man or woman wearing distressed Jeans like Kanye has on in this pic?
