Kim K, for as much as I can't stand her, was tweeting pics of some rare (unreleased) colorways of yeezys. His friends and family get the samples.

The first appearance of the 750 high in a pic was with all black leather and a white midsole...

But I've seen people wearing his stuff around NYC, mostly the sneakers but I've been seeing the sweaters and other stuff as well.

I'm sure he caters to the European market as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he moves units over there too. The US market can be real fickle when it comes to fashion.

Breh I grew up in NYC and went to college in the Lower East Side :francis:

Nothing Kanye is doing is new, we were doing all that shyt 10-15 years ago. The long tees were all that Damir Doma Rick Owens goth ninja bullshyt again from the mid 00s. Distressed jeans :mjlol:

I know you saw your first Chelsea boot last year but that doesn't mean everyone else is just as out of the loop :mjlol:

I never said what Kanye is doing is new. I said he influences fashion which can't be denied

Wheres the proof you were wearing distressed Jeans and Chelsea boots 10 years ago?

And you still havent produced a proof of Rick James wearing leather joggers.

It's heavy in the Asian markets. I see Korean and Japanese kids wearing Yeezys and all the latest Supreme shyt.

And yeah, unless you're in a major city (Chi, Baltimore, Philly, Detroit, LA, SF, Boston, Miami, Las Vegas) fashion is not important.

but the internet has made it possible for joe blow in Iowa to get his hands on the latest and greatest fashion from anywhere in the world.

I think he is going to have to go the will smith route and really delve into it, leaving rap behind.
Really, if he wanted to master the art of garment design, he would have to get trained and show collection after collection and get a general idea what the basics are.

I know people in that industry as well as just some regular old cats that have bigcartel brands and do small runs. THis is pretty much the anything goes era of fashion. There are people out there making millions of clothing/fashion with no experience and no formal training. High end and couture is different. It's a slow process, which is why I commend Virgil Abloh for truning screenprinted hoodies of Carvaggio paintings on champion hoodies with Pyrex Vision and turning it into an actual couture line with Off White. and he's a black man doing it.

Fashion is pretty much everybody's game now.

Ye talked about wanting to have his fashion at every level of influence from the H&M to the Saks Fifth, and he's honestly not doing too bad. Anything he wears that is also accessible, sells out instantly. Dude just opened 21 pop up shops across the world for wack ass gothic font tees :mjlol: and we know they'll sell out.
In regards to the high fashion he's doing, the real fashion billionaires don't want to let him play the game, they don't see anything to gain from someone who could easily say/do super controversial and have them putting out statements like :dame:. Plus the aesthetic he's going for isn't new.

Plus the retailers just want the hype. When I talk to buyers at Barneys, Mr Porter etc, they purchase the bare minimum of Yeezy items to advertise it in stock.

Add that to the fact, that this dude is still tryna maintain his stature in the music realm and whoever else knows what he be up to. I know he was executive producing a Jetsons movie, tryna work with Elon Musk, IKEA, etc :pachaha:

Hopefully with the Adidas deal expanding and Pastelle being resurrected, he can finally a piece of the pie he's been begging for. The culture needs Ye to win.

Kanye interned at Fendi.
Interesting.

I was looking into getting into that industry under another company. I don't think it would be high end though. Right now with my brand it's pretty much "designer streetwear" that bridges the gap between low end skateboarding gear and hi end stuff like Vetements/Raf/HBA/Alexander Wang/Noah/Saturdays Surf NYC.

I took a break from doing a spring drop this year cause I just noticed how fashion was changing especially amongst the kids and 20 somethings here in NYC. Also, we're trying to cater to otehr older demographics.

Before, you could definitely look at the Bones line and say "this is a skate brand"....but I'm trying to get it at Palace/C.E./Fuct/Richardson levels.

UPDATE: Pastelle Items Emerge on Grailed

don't think Pastelle is happening anymore. Ian Connor was auctioning the Pastelle jackets on Grailed.

Kanye associating with Ian Connor was the worst move he's made in a while.

My dude got the blue hoodie. It actually looks better in person.

I like the cholo font. I actually dig Kanye's merch, but the Yeezus merch was the best. Especially with the heavy metal influence.
No doubt im still trying to find some yeezus tour stuff for a "reasonable" price

BTW, breh, last year I went to my first fashion week parties.

Talk about pretentious and just :mjlol:

Dawg, I was just rolling around there like Debo from friday looking all hard and stuff and then I would be telling people I was a designer and had a store a couple of blocks down they were all like:smugbiden::win::myman::smugdraper::skip::jawalrus::smugfavre:

I met the staff at Supra, Alife, and Supreme. Met people from Stussy too that were interested in my gear. So I'm happy to of least generated some good looks for my hard work.

Yea, Ye doesn't have an eye for women's clothing. He has an eye for what he wants to see women in, but not what women would actually be interested in wearing.

Like, I've had tons of women ask me "why don't I do a womens line?" And I definitely want to. But rather than taking the designs for the mens line and putting them on women's clothing, I want to make designs that are kind of anti-men, so to speak.

One of these ideas is a shirt that has printed in small font "if you stare at this any longer, I might have to gouge your fukking eyes out."
Stuff that makes women feel powerful and not to be fukked with...you know?
Kanye women shoes make an impact but not the clothes
