3 reasons why Kanye is failing.

1. He didn't play to his strengths. He's a hip hop artist and that's where his base support comes from. That's like Usain Bolt selling golf shoes. He designs clothes that look like you borrowed them because you lost all yours in a fire or something and then overpriced them. His clothes don't look fresh so he has no core/startup fan base outside of the hypebeast.

2. He thinks he's bigger than he really is. He thought he could come out the gate and compete with fashion houses that have been around for decades with sweaters with holes in them. He tried to fast track and buy his way into the winners circle. He could've started small and built his brand up but his ego wouldn't let him.

3. He doesn't really have any product. That's why all of the push backs. He's doing the fashion shows to try and get someone to invest in him so he can start mass production. Which ties back into #2

YE has just lost touch with his day one fans.

He spends too much time around high fashion/high art white people and asians trying to get their approval.

How can someone like Jerry Lorenzo of fear of god be successful and never went to a design school and admitted he had only 4 years experience with fashion...

Yet this man has been trying to get a successful fashion venture off the ground for 10 years nearly and it has not happened?
:dwillhuh:
harsh realities :sadcam:

all facts tho, everyone in his crew is surpassing him

Ye is a fashion God imo his fits always look good but no homo he doesn't have the body for your typical fashion guy, usually clothes look better on skinny & tall guys

His "designs" are terrible. Nothing new or groundbreaking. Just already established pieces that are successful but upmarked 200%

I can name 10 designers who had showings this year who made better stuff.

Even his own protege Virgil with Off white is making more groundbreaking stuff and has surpassed where Kanye realistically wants to be.

And tbh, his women's line is insulting.

Because it makes no sense to go the high fashion route when there are so many other designers already doing the same shyt but better. He should make a streetwear or premium streetwear brand in the vein of like what black scale does. Sell lots of screen printed shyt with some cut and sew pieces here and there.

Kanye fails in fashion because he has no formal training in it. It's like if a race car driver all of a sudden wanted to become a car builder, but never learned how to work on cars or design/fabricate parts. All the fashion people Kanye is up against... they're serious. They are trained. They actually sew and design shyt. What exactly is Kanye's role in his fashion line besides paying people and approving shyt? It's like becoming the boss of a company without actually doing any work in it and having no prior experience of leading a company.

a lot of pieces that hit the runway never hit the racks
everything ye has put in stores has sold out instantly he moves product he'll be fine
the yeezy season shyt is basically an art project for him

ye never could dress anyway he still can't really jahahahahaa
but for individuals who take style cues from entertainment icons/idols he's the blueprint
you gotta know adidas knows how hot ye/kardashians name is with most consumers watch and wait

i think what op really means is

kanye is a star so why isnt his yeezy stuff "more" out there and accessible, why doesnt " everyone" know about it

Yeezy season 2 was cancelled/delayed
Yeezy season 3 was shown at MSG, but where and when is it coming out

this has nothing to do with failing btw

As a designer myself, I really want to see this dude succeed but I don't even know what he's doing or what he's trying to do.

as a designer/creator you should know you cant predict what another is planning, kanye has said loads of times he has loads of ideas he wants to get out there, "i want to be the next walt disney, steve jobs" youre not ment to know what he's trying to do, he's making u wait and keep watch

the clothes however, don't believe the hype, most of it is selling terribly.

somebody is buying them shyts, they selling out and they're not cheap too, i swear them yeezy boots were going for $500??? c'mon op i thought u was a fan

Why did he spend 53 million on trying to get established when more famous designers started for less?

he didnt just spend 53 mill, he said he lost 53 mill trying to start shyt up, over the years he lost money, no biggie right and the famous designers didnt start out making beats and rapping then being signed to a major lable, again, breh i thought you was a fan? you should know this

Pastelle was basically Kanye's version of BAPE imo.

And yeah, he does want to be a MArc Jacobs type.

I don't get it, he definetely has the money to get things going.

All we get are these overpriced and unoriginal "merch" like

These $90 gildan screenprinted Ts....

DONDA people.

:snoop:

those pablo shirts are album/tour merch, not made to be for the yeezy line lol, and a lot of brands out of the LA area dont even use gildan, theirs a higher level blank that some use, forgot the name but its more thicker, and why not charge $90? im sure kanye was selling his merch from the early 2000s cheap, why not up the price since he as a bigger name? fuk it we all live the capitalism lifestyle, maximum profit is all we want,
