Facts. Harlem always, and still does, has that "cache". It's known for the glitz and fly shyt. That's why their story is glamorized, even though they weren't the biggest hustlers, killers, or anything in the city around that time.
They’re romanticized because of how young they were, how flashy they were, and because of rappers. Azie was in Mobstyle and basically them and Kool G Rap was the fathers of that mafioso drug dealer rap. Also the story with Rich lil brother made the news combined with Rich getting killed. That all hit Harlem hard. Nas namedropped Alpo then Cam was doing it in the CoC days, and Dame Dash made the movie. These nikkas big because of hip-hop. They wasn’t the biggest there was a bunch of crews just like them in Harlem alone. Those YTC dudes was getting it themselves like @Piri Thomas said in his AMA it was nikkas everywhere. :manny:

Alpo, Rich, and Azie money wise were lil nikkas if we talking about the history of Harlem drug dealers don’t think it had nothing to do with Harlem’s glitz. Nikkas got fly everywhere. Harlem is dirty and grimy too.

The reason ain't good enough to kill over, especially considering how much money they were making back then
Even if true how much could the discount have been vs how much they were multiplying once they stepped on and moved the weight
It's shady if Rich did that but that's like killing my friend for taxing me 10 cent on something I made a dollar on regardless. Just cut dude off and move on

I agree with most this except the last few sentences. Yea Harlem is dirty and grimey too but NOWHERE in the city has it's storied history. I'm talking about the hustlers, the celebrities, Dapper Dan, the drugs, the fly women, the musicians...NOWHERE in NY has that extravagant history. Not even remotely close. That amplified the A, Rich and Po story. EVERY nikka, with or without a name, wanted to be out in Harlem in those days.

People also fail to remeber the black Renaissance was in Harlem. Long before rich, po and hip hop Harlem has been the epicenter of black flyness.
