Black people's athleticism is overrated...Culture has more to do with why blacks dominate in basketball than anything else...

Notice that except for basketball, blacks don't dominate any other sport that requires a development of great skill...For example, the QB position...How come blacks are not dominant in this position...?

I have read people on this forum state that "the QB position is the hardest position to play in sports"...Now, if blacks are more athletic and just equally intelligent as whites, why haven't blacks been historically successful in this position...? Especially since they dominate ALMOST every single position in the NFL...?

Also, blacks don't dominate the punting position...I am sure there is black child out there who knows he is not going to be a great WR or RB, so he might as well try his luck at the punting position were his "superior athleticism" will get him a smoother entry into the NFL...

No African country has ever won the world cup, and soccer is the number 1 sport in Africa...Furthermore, African players DON'T dominate in the foreign soccer leagues...Africa is not necessarily a goldmine of soccer talent...

you fukkin racist. the greatest soccer player EVER is pele and he's black. the most successful footballing country is Brazil and has the most people of african descent outside of nigeria. ronaldinho, ronaldo, robinho, etc. almost every great in Brazil's history is black. France almost won the world cup in 06 with a team made up exlcusively of players of african descent.

i agree that culture has more to do with sports dominance genetics. but GTFOH with your racism about black folks not being intelligent. give a black man a chance, and he'll play QB as good or better than any cac.

(1) Everybody knows the GOAT is Diego Maradona...Pele is a great, but when we are talking GOAT....Maradona is the GOAT...His skill was UNBELIEVABLE...

(2) Generally speaking, European countries have been the most successful...Brazilians don't even consider themselves black, unless they are phenotype black like Pele...

(3) Black don't mind stating non-sense like "blacks are more athletic than whites" but when you state that "whites are more intelligent than blacks" then you are a racist...:mjlol:

If you believe the QB is the HARDEST position in sport, then why haven't blacks been successful at this position...? Blacks have been playing NFL for decades now...The white man isn't holding them back...

The ONLY skill sport blacks are dominating is basketball..Blacks ain't dominating soccer, rugby, ice hockey and etc and they NEVER will dominate these sports based on the fact that they are black, but they have a chance of dominating if they make it valuable to their respective cultures...

The environment has a bigger impact on populations than genetics...As soon as surgeons realized that having clean instruments resulted in a better prognosis for a patient, the mortality rate of surgeries was drastically decreased...

This is just one small example of how HUGE a role the environment plays in determining our social outcomes...

No soccer fields in the hood. All the attention in the BBall courts. Seeing a guy gets crossed up and then slammed on is more visually exciting.

1. Pele has been voted Fifa Player of the Century by football experts from around the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_Player_of_the_Century Maradona only won the internet poll made up of younger people who never saw Pele play. When it comes to people who have watched both Pele and Maradona play, its not even close. Pele is the GOAT.

2. It doesn't matter what Brazilians think about race. We are talking about race from the American perspective. If we used the racial construct of Brazil, most black americans wouldn't be considered black. Hell Obama would not be considered the first black president. All I said was under America's persception of race, almost all the brazilians superstar soccer players are black.

3. I never said black folks are more athletic than whites. We dominate basketball because its the sport of the hood. The reason american cacs can't play ball is because they are p*ssy. Just look at white boys from spain and the balkans. They can play and their white. Its not race that stops american cacs, they're just afraid to compete against black folks. I've been in many a gym where white boys fold in the first few minutes because they feel intimidated. I'm not one of those negroes that believe in inherent superiority based on skin color. Brothas dominate the NBA because sports and drug dealings are seen as the only ways to make it outta the hood. If we turned out forcus to academics and saw school as a way to leave the hood, we'd dominate that too.

You can cross people In soccer also.

Sure. It's so hard to do that it's very impressive, probably too hard. The learning curve is extremely high. I think beyond the attention that someone is willing to put in. And visually, a bball crossover and then drive slam is like a bigger payoff.

The hood environment is just more conducive to playing with a bball than a soccer ball.

There are black people from other countries playing in the big name leagues on historic teams.

But none from America, NONE are even the face of a MLS team.

The biggest name in MLS is Dempsey or Donovan. Dempsey being the biggest player internationally. The biggest black player the US has is Altidore.
:ld:

I don't post in these type of threads but the second sentence makes me think it's not really trolling but ignorance, so I'll help!

Maurice Edu and Eddie Johnson are the highest paid and highest profile players on their teams

It's a combo of exposure and building a culture for soccer. American's in general don't fuk with Soccer like that because it's generally seen as a boring third world sport. As far as black americans go, they have never fuked with Soccer like that. Black Americans fav sport used to be Baseball! Boxing was a close second. Starting in the 50's to present Football and Basketball took over. Economics plays a part because in the USA, the NBA, NFL and MLB is where the money is. You have to play overseas or some sh1t tomake real money in soccer.

Is every German player the sons of rich people? You have many who grew up on middle class, of immigrant decent..etc

What do you mean by "first random black soccer megastar"? Do you mean African American instead of black?
It'd pretty much HAVE to be a Black American - and probably one from the inner-city and one the majority of Black American youth can relate to - to influence a lot of Black kids in this country to play soccer, and even that might not guarantee it. You'd basically have to have sort of an Allen Iverson of soccer or something (that's dated because Iverson was my era, I don't know what kind of cat would influence this generation) to change American soccer culture. Just some random Black American being a great soccer player probably wouldn't be enough either; Tiger Woods didn't really influence kids growing up in cities to play golf (for a lot of reasons, I know).

And it STILL might not work because whoever that player was would be playing his games in Europe anyway (and living there the majority of the time) and wouldn't have that type of visibility in this country except during the World Cup.
