Album actually holds up a lot better than I expected it to.
It's the reason Jada was super anticipated going into 2001.
Exactly. It's a dope album.

I don't hate Swizz at all BTW. I just think his stuff from that era sounds mostly interchangeable, and I think he got to a better producer as the years went on.

There were lots of bangers on this album. Recognize, fukk You, Can I Live Breathe Easy, Blood Pressure, Felony N---as, Ya'll fukked Up Now, Scream LOX, Ryde or Die bytch, We Are The Streets...I like all those joints.

I just don't listen to it a whole lot now, but I break it out once a year. It's not a classic. That doesn't mean it's not dope. I just think the world classic is thrown around too fukking easily in 2018. IMO if something was dope at all and is older than 10-15 years, then people will call it a classic now.

Recognize is a throwaway?

Some of y'all have really bad opinions

It’s Preemo. So it’s still magic. But calling Recognize a throwaway isn’t blasphemy breh.

Other joints Preem dropped during that time...

1999: NY State if Mind Pt. II, Mathematics, Come Get Me, So Ghetto

2000: The Enemy, The 6th Sense, Devil’s Pie

2001: 2nd Childhood

Compared to the other joints Preem was cooking up, the joint he gave the Lox did feel like some safe, throwaway shyt. I remember people saying it when they heard it.

:what:

That’s literally one of his MOST GENERIC beats
I'll admit that it's sort of generic compared to what Premier had just done on Moment of Truth, and it's one of the few Preem beats where the lyrics make the beat better than it is, but as a full package song I think it's hard to front on.

None of Ya'll Better might actually pound for pound be a better BEAT, but Recognize is my favorite LOX/Premier collab as a whole.

Definitely not a classic . Had a couple decent cuts. Even Preemo gave em a throwaway :snoop:

Recognize is one of the best beats Premo ever made :what:

You could argue Timbaland gave them a throwaway with Ride or Die bytch but that song's still the second best on the CD.

I fukk with Swizz heavy but the production on We Are The Streets is mostly trash. Which is why I laugh at the idea of this being classic anywhere.

Recognize is vastly superior to both of these. I'm tempted to throw "So Ghetto" in there too but that beat is flames. Not as good as Recognize tho.

Never heard Recognize mentioned as one of his best beats ... never.

Literally sounds like a template

Still not a throwaway because he has better beats. That song is classic.

You're changing the narrative. All I said is how is it a throwaway? It's an amazing beat.

It's like saying a 35 point game isn't great because at other times I scored 40 points. It's still great.
