"If You Think I'm Jiggy" nearly killed it. Reasonable Doubt is considered Jay's best album, but even that had "Ain't No nikka".

only on the internet is "aint no nikka" considered a bad record.

MPR was highly-anticipated, even after "if you think I'm jiggy" dropped.
and that song was aiird actually. the hook was too much of a turnoff, but it still banged at parties and the verses were aiird.
it was no career-killer like mic geronimo's "nothin move but the money"

And for the record there's really no point in arguing about MPR. Its not a definitive album either. Again, The Lox don't have one. They dropped two good efforts at best. Never listened to the new material they dropped.

at some point, you have to realize that youre worlds away from the LOX' demographic.

YOU WERENT THERE, like my man said. I know that post burned your soul.

You have to realize that this thread didn't go the way you planned with the vast majority of posters agreeing that this album isn't a classic. Now that's ether.

You could never say somebody wasn't there when you sit there and make bogus claims like '99 Mobb Deep was borderline old school. :camby:

I like "Ain't No nikka", but it isn't just an Internet thing against that song. People hate that song the same reason why you have disdain for "Ryde or Die Chick".

it aint no dam vast majority of people disagreeing with me. its 50/50. just because you only choose to argue with me, it doesn't mean that everybody else in this thread agrees with you.

and you don't know how I envisioned this thread. don't try to think for me. youre not even smart enough to think for yourself.

this board's biggest mobb deep fan already told you what it is. GET A CLUE ALREADY.

nah

"aint no nikka" was more raw & fly. there was nothing like that on the radio beforehand. and you never heard a female spittin what foxy was spittin in such a lyrical manner. and she was young on top of that.

"ryde or die chick" was just a generic goofy commercial cash grab, that didn't fit in with the rest of the album at all.

i'd expect the internets to like "ryde or die chick" more actually.

that's actually what he's saying,

that "Ain't no nikka" didn't fit with the rest of reasonable doubt sonically, even though as a standalone it was a hit

This was 1996. Nothing about "Ain't No nikka" stand out. "Get Money" original version comes to mind. In regard to Foxy, this wasn't even a stand out verse for her. "Who Shot Ya" was. Her verse on "Ain't No nikka" is no different from what uou could've gotten from "No One Else" remix or Case's "Touch Me".

"Ryde or Die Chick" is a "goofy, commercial money grab to you" the same way "Ain't No nikka" is a "goofy, commercial money grab" to others. What's funny is that even the people who agree with you like "Ryde or Die Chick" and the only negatives that were posted is that ot didn't fit the album. It isn't just The Internets that like the song. In fact, The Internets is supposed to hate it given that it was moderately successful.

Read through the thread. There is no 50/50 split. Most of the posts about the album's quality ranged from trash to dope. There were some who argued it being classic, but it wasn't 50%. The post calling it trash was the most dapped post in the thread with another poster quoting it and co-signing it, which also received swveral daps.

Nobody has to be a mind reader to conclude how you envisioned this thread. Your purpose is stated in the thread title and in another post where you talked about starting your own blog.

The board's biggest Mobb Deep fan never agreed that they were borderline old school. He even quoted the post where you claimed they were borderline old school and responded "Mobb Deep wasn't borderline old school in 1999". When I responded to his post stating that you say things like that all the time. He tried to clarify what he thought/hoping you meant in stating the "climate changed".

what I'm saying is, ive only seen "aint no nikka" be considered wack on the internet.

that's the difference.

I don't think you understand the comment I made about foxy's verses on "aint no nikka".

I didn't say that was he best verse at the time, or anything of that nature.

nevermind bro.

1.) looks 50/50 to me. I'm not counting people who post more than once as more than one poster.
2.) again, stop trying to think for other people when you cant even properly think for yourself. you don't know what youre talking about.
3.) he admitted the landscape had changed. what the hell does that tell you? this entire mobb deep argument is stupid. please stop stinking up my thread with this chit.
