Why don’t rich people put blinds or curtains in their windows?

I've wondered this for years. I think it's more of a white/black thing. I have NEVER seen any black household without blinds or curtains over the windows whereas white folks always have bare windows. they looking like fish in a fishbowl.

ok cool so it’s not just me

The cultural divide between mainstream America and some black people is just :mjlol: .

Brehs, when you're in a place of security you can be more open.

It almost a flex, that due to money or the general safety of a neighborhood, one can keep their home open without having to worry about any safety issues.

Growing up, my grandparents lived in such a nice neighborhood, not only did the windows stay open, at night, sometimes the front door stayed open and they would regularly leave their keys in the car.

I live in a high rise condo. My windows stay open. During the day, the natural light that comes in is unparalleled. And at night, the bright city skyline adds a beautiful ambience inside.
All neighborhoods can get robbed, you think you're flexing when you're just making it easier for criminals to case your home. Majority of people have blinds or shades, because the majority of us value privacy.:pachaha:

Rich neighborhoods usually, purposefully, dont have street lights have security. Lack of lighting plus security leads to a great chance of you being escorted out of the area.

Sense of security = more open to this look of a home

I get it when you live a wealthy suburb and people rarely drive that deep into your cul de sac
But doing it in the middle of a city is some confident stuff
If you walk the high line in Chelsea you can see into most of those peoples apts

In a way it adds a level of security. For one it’s no blinds so higher chance people will see any strange activity. Then the fact they are just putting everything on display gives you pause to consider what kind of security measures they might have

I don't either, tbh. I live in a pre war building and love the huge windows and look. I don't really care if someone is watching me watch basketball, fukk, clean or play with my dog. I do live on a higher floor though. If I did live in a house or the first two, I'd probably get a couple of curtains.

I’ve only seen white people do this. I’ll never understand it. Why would anyone want people watching them in their house?

to be fair that’s the back of the mansion…ppl were “joking” and saying it looks like a warehouse when they saw the aerial view of the front/sides of it
Either way I don’t want people to see inside from any angle!

I live near a wealthy neighborhood and when we are driving thru my wife and I always notice you can see right in these people houses. You can see them watching TV, eating, excercising etc.

When it’s dark my house blinds go down asap! I don’t like people seeing in and I can’t see out.

Is that a black/white thing or a rich I got no cares in the world thing?

the blinds come from the ceiling...

My white neighbors a couple houses down don’t have any blinds. Can see everything they got in there and it’s not even close to being a rich neighborhood.
