1. No if you're studying the effects on prayer, the best thing to do would be to have people pray for them, (hopefully to God and not some idol) and then proceed as normal.
2. No I will not concede that. For instance, I would say the world ignores the plight of Africans. Now of course there are those that do care for Africans and their well being but Im sure you would agree that there plight is largely ignored.

haha I am though...no bs. most of my family does the same.
i have spelled it out before, but i mostly try to avoid doing so now for spiritual/religious beliefs; while english isnt necessarily sanctified technically...recently, i have been giving english more respect as sacred because my hebrew isnt as sharp as it used to be, so it has become more spiritually significant for me to do so because if/when i read scripture, i often use english translations in the text (either entirely or in combination), when in the past, i really did not (not nearly as much anyway).
from a technical standpoint @Hollywood Hogan, hebrew was initially without vowels (and basically still is)

the origins and evolving linguistics in relation to this isnt all that concerning to me to be honest. that proto-germanic spelling/word is how I am currently labeling the deity, and i believe that it is a sign of (albeit perhaps small) reverence to 'censor' it. i was raised that way and have found more spiritual reason to resume doing it as my beliefs have matured and changed a bit...in a manner that provides me with more justification to do so.
i dont think that He would condemn me or someone else, all that much if i or they didnt do so, but i also am starting to believe more that He may judge one based on their consistency in following what they truly believe in (with exception to certain things obviously (for instance a serial killer and devout believer in murder probably wouldnt be rewarded by Him for being consistent)).
