Listen I was a sophomore in high school when Blueprint dropped. Everyone was playing it the album aged well some of the best production. It’s a classic but truth be told it was influenced by Ghostface Supreme Clientele album. Both albums classic

Solid album, production on there was very good.... I guess lyrically it was not his best as others said but overall it was a VERY good album IMO. I like the Black Album a little more thinking back but Blueprint at the time when it dropped was his best album since RD overall.

LOL @ this thread. It shows that a lot of people just ran with te narrative that PR put into them.

Conceptually, Vol. 1 is deeper and more constructed than The Blueprint.

The Blueprint is mostly just bragging and women. The widespread idea that the blueprint is some mature album does not coincide with reality :yeshrug:

The things is non stans grew up and realize that the Blueprint was weak lyrically and became classic thanks to the wonderful beats (except that Timbo nonsense and the Trackmaster nonsense). Stans can't see that and are confused.
The Blueprint is elite lyricism, wordplay, song cohesion throughout. It's his magnum opus. The problem is Hov has so much elite work nikkas look to nitpick shyt instead of giving his work the proper respect due...

And I don't even think Blueprint is Jay's best album.
It is 😆 but what do you think his best album is?

Did you actually listen to Vol. 1? It has some of his most introspective songs.
Hov's final verse on Streets Is Watching, is one of the strongest, rawest, most realistic 1st hand portrayals of the streets from anyone ever. As is A Million And One, really the entirety of both songs are iconic for the view from which they are being spoken from...

I thought it was extremely average when it dropped. I still think it's average.

Honestly its the first album that I "liked" that everyone "loved".

I was like "maybe I'm wrong. :patrice:"
