Why does the Coli pretend that African and West Indian immigrants don't exist

Black people have Stockholm Syndrome & are now mimicking their oppressors, we are inheriting their jingoism, xenophobia, and their racist talking points, I'm just trying to understand, how do you eradicate White Supremacy without forming alliances with other black people?

That's been the whole crux of this current argument. Alliances and unity. If African Americans feel that Africans and Caribbeans aren't in solidarity with them, don't support them in the cause, and even look down on them, then how do you expect African-Americans to sympathize with African and Caribbean immigrants (legai, illegal, or otherwise)? Because AAs are right, Africans and Caribbeans enjoy the rights and privileges that they currently have in this country because largely because of African-Americans. You can't come from a nubian country that's considered to have rampant violence, corruption and/or poverty, come here and enjoy a level of freedom and opportunity that you never had before nor worked for, and now start judging the people who have suffered and fought for any of you to enjoy those rights and privileges. Of course when AAs see you do all that they gonna tell you . If those immigrants or naturalized immigrants don't even take the time to learn the history or what the issues are and just start judging out of context, then clearly there's not gonna be much care when it's the immigrant's turn to get shytted on.

I have met some first generation ones but the kids etc. who grow up here generally are cool. We hang, we smash, we marry, etc.

Honestly with Africans I have been friends with or dated, dumb ass AAs are as big as a problem as some of the Africans' parents. Some AA ideas about Africa are atrocious and even more ignorant than Whites. I really hate saying that but I have seen it in the Coli and IRL.

Are Black immigrants good for us? In the long run they assimilate as AAs much like ethnic Whites did to Anglos. No matter how a West Indian or African acts, they ain't going to have White acceptance unless their children and grandchildren marry White and start passing. Them taking 'Black' spots in school is a red herring. They have better grades than most White folks most of the time so they would displace a bunch of them too like Asians are doing. Educated immigrants generally are displacing Americans at our own schools. Now some of them are arrogant and gladly like showing White people how they 'made it' by 'not whining' etc. But hey, karma is a bytch. As the economy declines MAGA is going to get worse and the whole model minority thing doesn't hold up to inchoate rage from the 'silent majority'.

I agree with you mostly. Just the assimilation thing might be a little different since many 2nd generation kids still want to keep and incorporate their original cultures into their lives. But of course, not totally assimilating does not equate to being towards AAs .It just means that many of us want parts of our culture passed down in the same way how Italians and Ashkenazi Jews keep their culture without totally assimilating to wider "white society". Other than that, I completely agree.

Ain't got time to respond to every message but all I'm going to say is; yes, black immigrants and immigrants of other races as a whole don't always stand for AAs but it's still wrong to say that they are out there to harm your livelihoods and take your jobs. We just want to live decent lives. We are not here to replace you guys. The least y'all can do is not root for these racist policies and have some basic human empathy.

Most black 2nd gen kids I know are very proud of their cultures while still growing up in the West. They usually try to balance AA and their original cultures when convenient.

I am descended from Yoruba and Fulani people so I can't deny or hate on the same people who share my blood in America...or any black immigrant for that matter. What you see on the Coli is not the same thing you see in the real world. SMH.

All I hope is that the current racial and political climate continues to wake up all black people to work together in any capacity. Pan-Africanism may be a pipe dream but it's cool seeing Black Americans from different regional cultures, West Indians, West Africans, East Africans, and Black Latinos all come together to party, have fun, work, build and eat in Houston. Black immigrants (especially Nigerians) might not relate to the black struggle like we think they should but please believe that they don't fukk with oyinbos and ndi ocha because they catch the same hell we do in Houston.

Believe it or not, one of the biggest issues between black natives and black immigrants is the defensiveness and ignorance Black Americans show about real-live black immigrants while being able to rattle off info about Egypt and black civilizations. Clearly we make the effort to learn about black history but it hurts when you don't make an effort to learn the same about black immigrants.

Much like racism, anti-blackness is taught and ignorance about blacks from other countries only contributes to the anti-blackness that black immigrants develop when dealing with Black Americans.

No, but it is understandable that we be indifferent to it and let them HTON, given that many not only hold ignorant & bigoted views about AAs, spew constant vitriol about AAs(just go check their forums), and many Africans & Caribbeans make it a point to disassociate themselves from AAs as "model blacks/minorities" once they get here.

Furthermore, Africans WITHIN the continent of Africa are far more xenophobic towards each other than AAs are to them in the US. Why don't you take your issues of how African immigrants are treated to the South African embassy?

The bahamian government and people treat Haitians(both foreign and native born) like cockroaches. I don't think I even need to mention how Haitians are treated in DR.

Africans & Caribbeans need to stop scapegoating AAs as solutions or sources of their problems and look inwards at themselves. Immigration policy isn't an African-American problem.
