My questions then becomes..do ethnic Europeans who immigrate to the US build with Americans of the same ethnic makeup. Eg, do Portuguese coming to the US seek out Portuguese Americans? Do Japanese coming to the US seek out and build with Japanese Americans etc? Because if they dont, and just about their business as immigrants trying to make money then why should African Americans and Black immigrants be expected to band together? Shouldnt everyone just mind their own business and go about living their lives without having alliances forced onto them?
