When black Caribbeans come and set up business and shops all on U Street and in Silver Spring, AAs don't see the wealth. But even in the event of economic competition there's an expectation of blind camaraderie.

Most Africans already arrive in the US with somewhat of an inferiority complex (unless they are crooked overconfident Nigerians) that no one will respect them because they supposedly come from dirt poor conditions mud huts riding on zebra butt naked etc etc, so they wont bother anyone and will likely keep to themselves. Its not arrogance or looking down on AA's, its a feeling that they will be looked down upon and ridiculed..thats why its rare for Africans in the US to make the news, they keep to themselves and try to avoid getting into any sort of legal trouble.
