Movies and tv shows
The sets looked cheap and the CGI was shytty more often than not.

Had to stop & quote this before reading the rest of the thread. I saw it on the fire stick. So since it's technically a bootleg it wasn't the best quality. But I'm laughing that it wasn't that far off quality wise. Laughing, but rather disappointed...

- Apocalypse himself is vastly underwhelming compared to his comicbook/90's TAS incarnation.
- Mystique was shoehorned into the hero role because of JLaw's star power. Not a good look.
- (As dope as both characters are...) Magneto and Professor's tragic bromance is way played out.
- Storm, Psylocke, and Angel were criminally misused. (IMO They should have been on the X-men side from the jump. Have Angel get turned near the end and use the same pestilence/war/famine from the comic books)
- No actual costumes until the final shot. (The black leather was cool in the early 2000's when the Matrix was huge and superhero movies weren't a big thing yet. The bar has since been raised.)
- Very little actual team X-men action. (Have Cyclops actually lead the group into the final battle! With Jean, Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Beast, Storm, etc. Maybe have Wolverine join up in the third act. :banderas: )
- Show more of the characters being people. Cutting the mall scene was a big mistake IMO.
- The film also had some very bad CGI, especially the final fight.

I remember leaving out the theatre mad. This movie was pure trash, nothing redeeming about it.

Villain was boring, heroes were boring, story was pointless. The only thing even okay about this movie was magneto, who was reduces to a henchmen by movies end. Then they tried to drop the phoenix on us... just fukk up my childhood and get it over with.

Angry at Magneto and Xavier for having a rivalry done right..something missing in all Avengers and Fantastic Four flicks? Lol

And Apocalypse is not what he is in comics like on the Fox show. Sinister usually outsmarts him sadly and they Cable be his rival..little punk ass gun toting Cable:laugh:

Nope...not gonna ride, homie. They had Magneto kind of used as the power for the entire scheme...about to turn the world upside down so he didn't have to deal with Apocalypse until everyone got in trouble.

I thought it was C+ worthy.

Good: Almost great casting, love the tone, hell I even thought the CGI was good.

Bad: Misused characters, underwhelming storyline.

I've said it before, X-Men needs to be a long-form dramatic TV show on FX with a budget like Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. There's too many stories, nuisance and built-up tension in the comics to smash it into a two hour movie.

It'd easily be the number one show on TV.

I thought it was ok. Not great, but not horrible either. I'd give it maybe a 6/10.

Main problems are -

1. Apocalypse was underwhelming
2. The Professor X/Magneto story seems like a retread
3. A lot of characters were just underutilized in favor of more screentime for Mystique/Magneto

That Quicksilver scene though. :banderas:
