what does an artist stand to gain by putting demonic imagery/content in their music and videos?

illuminati rumors in the Black community, which happens to be VERY religious, isn't the most "logical" route to go if you want to get people talking.

whenever I hear Black people mention an artist being a part of or pawn in a secret society, they usually suggest that you stop listening to that artist and other artists doing the same things.

of course "all press is good press", but I can't think of any reasons from a business viewpoint why record labels would have their artists display imagery or lyrics that would alienate large groups of its target audiences.

I for one was never impressed with any Black artists "taking advantage of the stupidity" by perpetuating these rumors, only to later complain that people are attributing their success to a secret society.
