What policies are influencing these people's lives cuz I'm not feeling it myself, personally.

Gay marriage, abortion, stem cell research and virtually any scientific advancement for a few of them. And then there's that most people would not want someone who believes in Superman to be in a position of power making decisions. From their point of view its a legit concern.

I sit back and look at all the threads that are made about religion in the higher learning section of the Coli. And I laugh at the fact that this is suppose to be where the intelligent thread are. Most of the threads made about religion are disrepactful and silly. I assume that many of you really make the threads to feel smarter then you really are. Most of you guys know that you're dealing with people that have limited understanding of religion and a high school understanding of sciences and philosophy. So when you make your disrepactful threads about relilgion you know people will take the bait and you can feel smart.
:salute: With the stealth insult and the resulting flamewar

Like I told your friend, you're talking about issues that have been voted on and the MAJORITY of the people voted one way, you feel another. Oh well, tough break.

I wish they would legalize marijuana but they haven't. Oh well.

And I'm curious how a person can scream about the greatness of evolution and then support homosexuality and abortion. You guys are just confused. Rebels without a cause.

I actually enjoy reading the discussions on here about religion, trollery or not. I learn more about religion in the Higher Learning forum than I would at a school. Its just raw discussions and since we are on the internet and not face to face its just talk. You talk to some people in real life about it and they get too emotional or even want to cry when it gets too deep. I salute these convos because we are all learning something at the end of the day. :salute:

Again with the "you guys." I'm not an atheist. I'm an agnostic. But I can see why they are so passionate so I answered your question. Because YOU asked. Personally I don't mind religion until it starts interfering with progress. And your comparison of evolution to gay marriage and abortions makes absolutely no sense. One is science and the other two are social and moral issues.

The first part of your post makes no sense either. Majority rules so every one else should shut up? That's not how forums work. That's not how democracy works either.

So who determines right from wrong? You? :heh:

Well, yeah, I do. Are you saying if most people believe it's right, then it is? :heh:

And the OP's question has been "answered" with nothing but BS. That's not what any of the religious threads in here are about. They're mostly aimed at disrespect and mocking and nothing more.

Well, sure dude, it's the internet. Of course there are going to be trolls. Nothing to get your panties in a bunch over.

The bottom line is any political policy that favors any particular religion is probably because the majority of the people follow that religion. Doesn't that make, like, perfect sense?

No, I'm mad because these things violate the first amendment. It doesn't matter if the majority of people want them enacted. Again, we have a constitution to protect the minority from these things. And sometimes it takes a vocal minority before the majority are made aware, and we can overturn some of these things.

I'm agnostic too and I don't see religion ever really affecting my life. I can search for dirt in a snow storm but the truth is lack of gay marriage rights doesn't have any bearing whatsoever on my life.

And I never compared evolution and gay marriage I just pointed out that if everyone was gay or everyone got abortions there would be no more human beings. So what good is discovering evolution if we're just going to make ourselves extinct anyway?

You could move to a state where marijuana is legal, Are Tard.

And this isn't a matter of preference for me. In some instances, religious people are hindering the progress of mankind.

How on Earth are those things related? We're confused? You don't even know what you're talking about.

So YOU determine right and wrong. :ohhh:

I don't wear panties and I can assure my drawers aren't in a bunch. I don't really care one way or the other but I'm calling out that bullshyt "politics" answer because I've never seen it come up in a religious thread so there's no way that can possibly be the reason why religion gets talked about so much.

And how is your 1st amendment being violated? :heh:

Protect the minority from what? You can't overturn shyt because, again, the MAJORITY of the people want it that way.

There's no law that says an atheist can't run for president but the fact is he's gonna have a hard time getting votes. Why? The majority of the people voting aren't gonna be too fond of that. Oh well, that's life. :yeshrug:

Exactly. I'm starting to wonder if this guy took a basic high school civics class. :what:

It's still illegal on the federal level. But you're right, it doesn't matter. Same thing with religion, it doesn't matter. Religion is hindering mankind? Religion is keeping you, personally, from learning? No, that's called dyslexia.

And if you can't see a relation between evolution and homosexuality you're a retard. They both have to do with reproduction or lack there of. If all humans were homosexual we wouldn't be able to evolve any further.

You still sound like toothpaste. :yeshrug:

M-m-my 1st amendment rights. :to:
