Why do you guys talk about religion so much

Its just common ground, everyone has had a religious experience. Prolly the only thing we all have in common on this board, whether it left a positive impact or not.

Not to mention that religion is still the force behind most of the worlds trauma

I sit back and look at all the threads that are made about religion in the higher learning section of the Coli. And I laugh at the fact that this is suppose to be where the intelligent thread are. Most of the threads made about religion are disrepactful and silly. I assume that many of you really make the threads to feel smarter then you really are. Most of you guys know that you're dealing with people that have limited understanding of religion and a high school understanding of sciences and philosophy. So when you make your disrepactful threads about relilgion you know people will take the bait and you can feel smart.

Because much like religious organizations with missioners we are trying to get people on our side by using logic. Of course people who are religious often ignore logic but if you can convert some then that is a victory one by one.

also on another note i am often surprised by the Christians who are ignorant on Christianity.

I often wonder this as well. Especially as it pertains to atheists. If the concept of God is so absurd and ridiculous then why spend so much energy on it?

If someone thought Superman was real and I thought he was fake, I wouldn't dedicate my life to proving his fictitiousness. I'd most likely just keep it moving.

If God is so absurd why even entertain the idea? My only conclusion is that it must not be that absurd after all.

this is exactly what it is. the problem is. these dudes also have an elementary understanding of the sciences they speak of. they call some people out for "copy and pasting" stuff. but yet they are just memorizing what they just read in the science mags. and repeating with the author wrote. they are not in the field running experiments. never have been and probably never will be.

so this is again how you know its a troll thread made so they can feel smarter.
