Why do some black people claim obviously mixed people as black?

I was told on this very forum that black people came up with it. This was said to me after I said it was a racist system invented by whites. I'll look for the post and get back to you

It literally stands for mixed race. How is it not? You can be mixed race but also majority one race. Theres also the term multiracial. Its not an either/or thing.

you cant have a race/group called mixed or biracial without destroying the concept of race...a person with one biological black parent and one biological asian parent is mixed..a person with one biological white parent and one biological indian parent is biracial...these two people of different races would belong to the same race if mixed or biracial was a group of its own...but it aint...that is why there is no mixed or biracial box on the census...

Doggy im not debating anything. All i did was ask questions and referenced what some other posters have said on this very forum and reiterated that african americans, just as my fellow caribbean brehs, do have a certain level of mixture with whites as a result of colonization.
If you cant accept that then we have nothing to talk about since you'd be in denial. Nothing unique about african americans in comparison to other black diasporas other than North America

jamaican's mixed race population went down because mulattos started identifying as the inclusive term "black". Same reason why Brazil "Black" population increased because they now include "pardos" (mixed types) along with "pretos" (dark skinned blacks). This is all because of the Afram/USA influence.

And i did the ancestry thing and tools my grandmother of my findings which she already knew. My family comes from Camilla, GA then Knoxville, TN. @Prynce's fam is also from GA. We both have immigrant fathers but our maternal side of our trees have long histories in the states.

And yes it is a thing. I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't true. How many people you hear talking about or proud of their white racist ancestors. Many dont talk about it now because a lot of people dont know there history. But it was more of an issue the more recent the incident happened.

People like red babies but people didnt talk much about how they got that way.

Even if you watch those DNA youtube vids you see people talking about how they know that their native and then find out they got way more Euro blood in them than native.

The concept of is already "destroyed". It's highly subjective and is a social construct. Mixed/Biracials just check more than one box on the Census.
