Why do people say California hoods look safe, no hoods look safer than New York City

Complete makeover.

Its a completely different city now.

The Jews took over in the 50s with their mafia earnings from the ‘10s - ‘40s bought up all the low income residential buildings then neglected them until they could burn them and collect the insurance money like they did with the twin towers. Then flooded the streets with heroin and later cocaine and crack.

Took 20 years to clean up the mess.
Yeah it’s like that down south a lot of them & Arabs own property in the hood and neglect it. We call them slum lords here. The reason I ask is during the crack epidemic (Regan and Bush Years) everyone had money despite how it tore up our communities. After that came Clinton, Biden, Gulianni 3 strikes rule etc. was them being hard on drugs, violence, and gangs necessary to end the war on drugs and clean up cities across the US? I ask because I was born in 1985. I just remember as kid people coming to our elementary school promoting “just say no”. I remember going outside and hearing about somebody overdosing. I just wasn’t exposed to it people kept us away from it. But you had some young boys with money too that was in it.

Everyone didn't have money in those years.

That's a myth.

Regular people in the hood had it way worse than people there today.

We just didn't know how bad we had it because we was still segregated pretty much.

I used to think the closest thing we got in LA to something in NYC is like Watts by Jordan Downs but one thing I can say about Watts Vs the grimy parts on NYC I been in nothing beats the the size of NYC rats. shyts are like the size of cats there.

Edit: Maybe some parts of mid city too especially back in the 90s

A lot of what people have been trained to view as dangerous simply just doesn't work in LA.

You show them the Overhills,West Adams or the Jungles, and in their mind there is no way that it could be dangerous cause there are plants, houses with yards that people take care of,parks and picturesque views.

Even riding down Alameda, they'd still be like :russell:

Hell yeah all them nikkas lying

The only nikkas that had buy it off the lot cash was Harlem nikkas because they was right there with the Dominicans in East Harlem and they came from a long line of real gangsters that taught them how to really play the Jews game; Bay Area nikkas cause they was right there by Silicon Valley where they was creating all the latest and greatest drugs, and Detroit nikkas that was with the Midwest Mob.

Everybody else was nickel and diming, frontin, worrying about when the next drought was coming.

I was getting 4 and a baby at my peak and the bums around my way thought I was rich lol.

I've been hearing stories for years about how wide open the 80s was. I believe it was probably easier to run it up, I feel like it was easier to run it up in my day than it is today, so I can buy it to an extent...

But a bunch of these 80s nikkas be putting on extras. I had a handful of dudes from that era tell me that years back. My mom told me that years back. There's always been guys that'll put two on ten, or say they were bigger than what they were, and it's easier for guys to get away with exaggerating because it WAS so wild west back then, and so many people from back then are no longer around. It was probably easier for flunkies to run a check up..

The Westside of Atlanta before they tore the projects down was
Simpson Valley :scust:

Birmingham has a lot of ugly run down shyt as well. Avondale by the Sloss Furnaces comes to mind.

Alabama village in Mobile might be the most unaesthetic

BX, NYC
NYC been got cleaned up most of those abandoned lots got construction, those days of burned buildings are long gone, and those boarded up tenements have been refurbished.

The hoods of NYC have always had some great architecture. Highbridge is hilly with a lot of staircases, got a lot of Art Deco apartment buildings, even detached mansions, townhouses, big Romanesque churches, lighthouse.

U can still go to 170 and College, 183rd and Davidson, Webster Houses and still get that raw “trenches” feel though.

Just for context, what's the time frame here? You're late 40s, right?

You know I'm familiar with a few areas in Virginia, always heard it was wide open there too. In your area it was New Yorkers yall were copping from?

Someone I work with said recently that there are practically zero Asian gangs anymore here in Cali and actually I haven’t heard anything regarding Asian gangs for a minute. Basically zero Filipino sets out in the Valley anymore.

Out in Long Beach I remember when shyt was warfare between some of them and other groups (how the conversation started). shyt was all over the news.

People really need to leave that shyt behind and focus on better things.
