Why do people say California hoods look safe, no hoods look safer than New York City

The suburbs
That’s why I laugh when people say it’s the environment and not the mentality. You’ve got bad bytches, sunshine, palm trees, beautiful weather, beaches, nice houses and yet you still want to engage in nîggatry?

Make it make sense… please! At least New Yorkers have legit reasons to be miserable between their cramped apartments, cold weather and big ass rats Debo’ing them.

Imagine growing up in a house with a backyard, well manicured lawn, great weather and becoming a gangster not cause of living conditions but more so the mentality of the people around you shyts retarded.

Imagine trying hard to turn the suburbs into a ghetto .
when your 12 years old and have enemies that you've ever had a conversation with and the guys from the other neighrbood came by and killed your friends you grew up with you may make different choices than you think.

and people trying to be gangster did turn the area ghetto. segregation, devaluation of property and white flight did that.

We're about money over here. Not banging for the sake of it.
Gang banging at its outset and at its core is a tough guy competition...

But you can always tell people who didn't grow up in California with these "we bout money" statements, because there was always gangbangers with paper, and there were always unaffiliated nikkas with paper, who grew up in these sections, just never picked up the rag...

There are so many names of people yall don't know of that were real bag getters in every era. It's just like it's so many names of cats in NY that were essentially bangers---tough guy killers---who we wouldn't know of...

Anyone who grew up in California neighborhoods can tell you bout someone(s) from the area they grew up in who were hood rich and had that bag, so it'll never make sense when cats make these statements like New Yorkers were on some paper in a way Californians weren't...

Ice T was a Crip affiliate but to my knowledge never joined a set. He was papered up before rap...

Blacc Sam is a young-ish present day example of someone with Crip relations but never picked a side, and it's well known he was papered up...

Freeway Rick. Harry-O. Eazy-E was an actual gangbanging nikka with money. So was Nipsey Hussle. So was RJmrLA. On and on...

I could list several Sacramento cats who you wouldn't know about, simply because Sac, understandably, doesn't have the profile these larger cities have. But guys from the city who were bangers and were paid; guys who grew up there but didn't join a gang and were papered up...

I'm sorry, it always bothers me when cats be like "we get money in New York" 🤣 it's always the give that someone ain't spent no time with Cali nikkas in Cali hoods. Always been some paper chasing nikkas in California. Always...

I almost got stranded in Paterson as a "joke" in high school. After our varsity high school basketball game against Paterson Catholic, the coach asked me how I was getting home from his car. When I said I'm not sure, he said "Ok, well good night" and drove off. Maaaan I didn't know who I was about to call, but luckily one of my friends on the team got me saying that coach called him
I went to this to youngin house in Paterson one time. Shorty was bad bad

After like 15 minutes i see a couple big azz roaches. I give her the :scust: look

She give me a :what: and say u from Newark u got roaches too

I smashed and never spoke to her again

La hoods do not look sweet at all....the shyt looks dusty and outdated...so yall keep talking about palm trees...
nyc is safe for the most part..unless you involved in street shyt...besides the random shyt that happens...but one thing yall forget is how big NYC is and the amount of people in one area
They don't put the eastside on tv like talkin bout it

Discovering that is part of the real LA experience
